What makes us different?
Professional conduct is the cornerstone of ISNHCP practitioners.
As ISNHCP practitioners, we are called to model respect, integrity, and humility—not gossip, division, or hostility. The horse deserves our very best care, and that begins with how we treat one another.
At present, there is far too much badmouthing in our industry. It doesn’t help the horse, and it doesn’t elevate us.
Perhaps a bit far-fetched, but a few simple questions can guide our daily conduct: Is it true? Is it kind? Is it necessary? If the answer is no to any of these, then some things are best left unsaid.
These questions lean on an ancient wisdom—the same wisdom that guided Jaime to form the Oath of Allegiance, compelling all ISNHCP practitioners to uphold professionalism.
Too often, our silence is mistaken for foolishness or lack of resolve. Nothing could be further from the truth. Our words shape our day, our day shapes our professional experience, and together, this shapes the profession at large. Every thought we think and every word we speak shapes our future—just as our hands shape the hoof—so let’s make them count.
Our practitioners often refrain from social media drama, resisting the urge to publicly slander or smear other hoof care professionals. This sometimes comes at a personal cost. Equally damaging is the quiet disparagement that sways clients. This post is dedicated to them all. We feel your pain and acknowledge your resolve.
But there is a deeper wisdom in refraining from reckless discourse that risks transgression in our conduct.
Through mental fortitude, we can rise above the noise. We can be bigger than gossip, stronger than divisive narratives, and united by a higher purpose—the well-being of the horse. Let us hold ourselves, and one another, to the standard our profession demands.
Please don't let our differences divide us.
This is what makes us different.
As Jaime often puts it: “With wisdom comes silence.”
