🤝Meet-the-Team: Mirel
👋 Hi, I’m Mirel!
I’ve been part of TECOSIM since 2019, back when our Romanian team was still very small. Over the last six years, I’ve had the opportunity to grow alongside the company and take on exciting challenges in CFD and Thermal Simulation.
💨 What do I do?
I work as a Technical Manager for CFD & Thermal Simulation. Simply put, I help customers solve complex engineering problems using virtual simulations.
From improving passenger comfort and cooling electric vehicle batteries to optimizing manufacturing processes, my job is all about understanding how things behave before they’re built in the real world.
🏆 One project I’m especially proud of involved improving an industrial e-coating process for van frames.
The simulation was one of the largest ever performed at TECOSIM:
🔹 200 million cells
🔹 36 million CPU hours
🔹 Nearly 10 TB of data
The real success, however, was helping our customer identify the root cause of a production issue and test solutions virtually, avoiding costly downtime and minimizing disruption to the manufacturing process.
💡 What motivates me every day?
I love challenges. Every project is different, every customer brings new questions, and there is always something new to learn. That combination of continuous learning and problem-solving keeps my work exciting and rewarding.
🧗 Fun fact:
Outside of work, I’m passionate about climbing, whether it’s sport climbing, alpine routes, or big walls. I guess I’ve always enjoyed pushing myself outside my comfort zone.
And speaking of uncomfortable situations... shortly after moving into a new office, I arrived very early one morning and accidentally triggered the building’s security alarm. My first reaction? Quietly close the door and walk away as if it wasn’t my problem. 😅 Unfortunately, the alarm had other plans, and I’m fairly sure I provided an unexpected wake-up call to some of our neighbours that day!
