Once a year, VDE NRW (Association for Electrical, Electronic & Information Technologies) in North Rhine- Westphalia invites its members to discuss a current topic of interest in the industry. This year EA Elektro-Automatik GmbH was asked if we had anything to contribute on the topic of EV Batteries: From Development to Recycling with High-Performance Power Supplies.

Of course the answer was YES and we invited the members to Viersen in Germany. The afternoon started for around 50 participants with a guided tour through our production site.

CEO James M. Hitchcock welcomed the guest and emphasized EA’s strategic role within Tektronix, highlighting the growing importance of power electronics in sectors like mobility and green hydrogen production.
Dr.-Ing. Ralf Berker, VDE NRW spokesperson, thanked EA for the invitation, before Roland Robrecht, Head of R&D at EA, presented the various applications of EA products in e-mobility, from battery development and testing to recycling.

Tilmann Föppl and Daniel Saathoff from Duesenfeld shared how EA's power electronics ensure safe, 100% discharge of batteries before recycling, even recovering energy from the process.

The day ends with a lively discussion followed by chats and some refreshments.

It was a pleasure to welcome the interested experts to our company.
