A glimpse of our current maintenance project aboard a Platform Supply Vessel (PSV). The Wenzel Marine team is overhauling the twin MaK M25 engine installation – including the turbochargers.

As a KBB service partner, we also carry out the turbocharger reconditioning, bringing engine and turbocharger expertise together under one roof.

For our customer, this means closely coordinated work, clear communication and a single point of contact.

These projects demand experience, precision and teamwork – especially when space is tight and every component presents a handling challenge.

Let’s get to know Unai:

Unai is a trained marine mechanic from Vigo, Spain. He’s completing a recognition year with us to validate his Spanish training. As part of this program, he’s also taking German classes. He already speaks German quite well.

September was an interesting and successful month for us. We had the SMM in Hamburg at the beginning of the month, our apprentices put together a great presentation for teachers in the region, and our workshop was working at full capacity.

Our colleague Trieu Mi got married in August. Of course, we wanted to congratulate her and are so happy for her. Since the newlyweds would love to go to Hawaii, we thought we’d do our part to make that happen.

Last Friday, the teachers’ tour made a stop at our facility. This is an initiative of the town of Stuhr, the mayor, and the Stuhr Economic Development Agency. It gives teachers from nearby schools a glimpse into local businesses. The teachers from KGS Stuhr and KGS Moordeich were very interested and gained insight into how our training program works in practice.

Our apprentices handled the company presentation entirely on their own. They prepared thoroughly and made a very positive impression through a presentation and a hands-on demonstration. For example, they showed how a shipment is packed and all the things we can do in our workshop.

After the SMM, the workshop is full again. Various cylinder heads are on the workbench. As part of our cylinder head reconditioning service, we perform professional crack inspections, surface planing, valve seat machining, and valve guide replacement for all engines.

The SMM in Hamburg was a complete success for us at Wenzel Marine. Over the course of four days, there was a lively exchange of ideas, and we made new contacts in the maritime industry. Below are a few more photos from the trade show.
