AuCom Applied Motor Controls AuCom was established in 1978 to design and manufacture a top end range of stereo amplifiers. We pride ourselves on our attention to detail.

The name AuCom originates from the combination 'Au' for audio, and 'Com' for communication. The two founders were brought together by their mutual interest in amateur radio and appreciation of music. Mark Empson was the electronics design expert and Ray Archer the business partner with entrepreneurial skills. As well as amplifiers, AuCom was also involved in the design of power supplies for radio

broadcast systems, taxi alarms and energy saving devices for single phase and three phase ac induction motors. These energy saving devices were manufactured under a license agreement with the American space agency, NASA. From here the electronic soft starter technology was born and this became the main focus of the company who produced the world’s first range of commercially viable soft starters. Throughout our history, we have always been dedicated to innovation and research. A mix of agility and hard work keeps AuCom at the forefront of industrial electronic technology. We are known for our flexibility and engineering skill, and are recognised as the world's leading specialist in soft starters. Behind strong growth are always people who work together, drive ideas forward, and take responsibility. That’s exactly what makes the growth of our production team at AuCom so special. 🔝

What started as a production team of 12 employees in 2022 has already grown to 68 today. Last year alone, 19 employees joined us. We are delighted by the tremendous dedication of each and every one of you, because it is only thanks to you that we will be able to continue growing in the future. 👏

Let us introduce: Tim Heuckmann – Engineering Director at AuCom! 🚀

Tim has been part of AuCom for five years and has been steering technical projects as Engineering Director for the past two and a half years.

For Tim, open communication, mutual respect, and reliability form the foundation of successful collaboration. He believes the best solutions emerge from teamwork: when different perspectives come together, everyone takes responsibility, and everyone works toward a common goal. “Only together can we achieve lasting success”

In his personal life, he’s an early riser and prefers to start the day with a cup of coffee.

We value Tim’s dedication and his ability to continually motivate the team to come up with new ideas. With his experience and mindset, he enriches AuCom day after day!

We manufactured seven frequency converters in three different sizes for one of our customers in the United Arab Emirates. From the very first step in the empty control cabinet to the finished system: every detail reflects genuine craftsmanship and expertise.

Yesterday we took part in the AOK Company Run in Münster. A total of 13 colleagues represented AuCom at the event. 🏃

The event was well organized, the atmosphere was relaxed, and it was a great opportunity to spend time together outside of our daily work routine. Thanks to everyone who participated. 💪

Construction Site Update! 🚧

Construction of our Customer Experience Center is making noticeable progress: With the completion of the fourth and final floor of the building’s shell, we have reached another milestone, and the brickwork and roofing are also in their final stages. The next trades – including electrical, plumbing, and drywall – are already ready to begin the interior work.💡

The building is really starting to take shape, and completion is just around the corner. It won’t be long before we can open our new Customer Experience Center. We’re looking forward to seeing the next stages of construction! 🧡

Baustellen-Update! 🚧

Der Bau unseres Customer Experience Centers macht spürbare Fortschritte: Mit der Fertigstellung der vierten und damit letzten Etage im Rohbau wurde haben wir einen weiteren Meilenstein erreicht und auch die Klinker- und Dacharbeiten befinden sich in den letzten Zügen. Die nächsten Gewerke – darunter Elektrik, Sanitär und Trockenbau – stehen schon in den Startlöchern, um mit den Innenarbeiten anzufangen.💡

Das Gebäude nimmt immer mehr Gestalt an und die Fertigstellung rückt in greifbare Nähe. Es dauert nicht mehr lange, bis wir unser neues Customer Experience Center eröffnen können. Wir freuen uns auf die nächsten Baufortschritte! 🧡
