What a night! We are still moved by the incredible impressions from the world premiere of the international documentary "A Doctor’s Mind" at the Schauburg in Karlsruhe last Sunday. ✨

ITK Engineering GmbH had the privilege of joining over 350 invited international guests – from clinical practice, research, and leading medical technology pioneers – as an official partner for an unforgettable evening. 🤝

The film offers a raw look at nine of the world’s leading neurosurgeons – including Prof. Dr. Spetzger from Klinikum Karlsruhe – directly in the OR. Beyond the cutting-edge neurosurgical procedures and devices, it highlights the symbiosis of experience, precision, and collaboration in the OR, while deeply exploring the human side: How do these doctors handle the immense pressure and responsibility when a single millimeter decides between life and death?

From Germany to Japan: Connecting Rail Expertise across Borders

Our Rail team recently took its expertise on a plane – all the way to Japan! During his visit, our colleague Tim had the opportunity to meet with members of the European Business Council (EBC) and give a presentation at the Bosch Japan Headquarters in Yokohama. The focus was on “Cyber Security in Rail: Understanding the basics & the European regulatory landscape”, an important topic for the future of safe and secure rail systems.

And, of course, Tim was not travelling alone: our loyal rail team mascot Herr Bert, the little conductor, joined him on his journey and made sure our team spirit was represented in Japan, too. You can spot Herr Bert in the photos below!

A special thank you to our colleague Namik from the ITK Japan office for the great cooperation, support and hospitality throughout the visit. We truly appreciate making this international exchange possible!

Formula Student season never fails to impress – visiting Formula Student Spain and Formula Student Germany 🏁

Our team was on the road over the past few weeks, taking in the action at both FSS in Barcelona and FSG at Hockenheim.

In Spain, Josep spent three intense days as an Engineering Design Judge, evaluating 24 teams from all over the world – from Sri Lanka to the US. Beyond the judging, it was all about sitting down with the students, discussing how to get the most out of their setups, and handing over trophies at the award ceremony.

A few days later at Hockenheim, Sven, Sander, Christopher, and Max braved the 30°C+ heat to catch the action on track. It was especially great connecting in person with our sponsored teams from Barcelona and Munich as well as checking out their latest developments – including some smart battery cooling setups in the pit and Munich Motorsport's cone front-wing concept 😉.

Always inspiring to catch up with the teams and see what the next generation of engineers is building. 🚀

Wie sieht der Arbeitsalltag in einem Technologieunternehmen aus? Und was steckt eigentlich hinter Elektroniklabor, Temperaturwechselkammer und Showroom? 🔍

Vergangene Woche waren 9 Schülerinnen und Schüler der 8. Klassen der IGS Rheinzabern im Rahmen ihrer Betriebserkundung bei ITK Engineering zu Gast.

Neben einem Einblick in unser Unternehmen ging es vor allem darum, Technik und unterschiedliche berufliche Wege greifbar zu machen.
Dazu gehörten: 💡
• ein persönlicher Erfahrungsbericht vom Schüler zum heutigen Berufsalltag bei ITK
• ein Rundgang durch unser Elektroniklabor mit EMV-Prüfkammer, Lebensdauerraum mit Temperatur- und Feuchtekammern, Werkstatt und Musterbau
• praktische Tipps zu Bewerbung und Vorstellungsgespräch
• ein Besuch unseres Showrooms mit Einblicken in verschiedene technische Themen und Projekte

Dabei blieb auch Zeit für Fragen und den direkten Austausch mit unseren Kolleginnen und Kollegen. Danke an Annika, Harry und Patrick. 🙌

ITK Engineering GmbH renews partnerships with Forze Delft and BCN eMotorsport 🏎️💻⚡

We are extending our technical partnership with Forze Hydrogen Racing and BCN eMotorsport for another year!

As partners in development, we are supporting both student-led teams from the TU Delft and Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya - UPC with our engineering expertise. Through bi-weekly teams meetings or workshops, our experts collaborate closely with the students to tackle system engineering challenges, optimize software integration, and troubleshoot technical bottlenecks.

Here is how both teams are pioneering the future of mobility:
🌿Forze Hydrogen Racing: They design, build, and race high-performance, zero-emission hydrogen-electric prototypes directly against conventional, fossil-fueled GT sports cars in an official racing series. Their ultimate vision is to prove that hydrogen fuel cell technology can match the extreme performance and reliability demands of motorsport. With developments like their dual fuel cell system and advanced vehicle dynamics, they are redefining the boundaries of what is possible.

⚡BCN eMotorsport: As the first Spanish electric & driverless team, they are pushing the boundaries of autonomous electric racing. Their car is uniquely engineered to compete in both manual and autonomous categories. Weighing just 200 kg with a total torque of around 1400Nm it can deliver spectacular vehicle performance on track.

We are glad to continue sharing our engineering passion and look forward to another year of successful collaboration, shared learning, and innovation on the racetrack! 🤝🚀

Collaboration in action: Judging, cheering, and connecting at Formula Student Boxberg

We spent an amazing time at this year’s Formula Student driving and application event in Boxberg. Between July 3rd and 4th, the test track was packed with high-speed action, teamwork, and of course, plenty of engineering.

Our ITK duck 🦆 was busy, too. It didn't just grab a legendary Boxberg Kebab but also made a new friend from halfway across the world: the mascot of University of Auckland Formula SAE Team.

On July 4th, our colleague Christopher acted as a judge at the Design Event, evaluation the innovative concepts and cars of the three teams: High Speed Karlsruhe, Einstein Motorsport and Auckland. It’s always great to discuss different technical approaches with the students.

We also got to cheer on our sponsored team municHMotorsport as they put their hard work to the test on track. 🏁

Our Healthcare team is on the road again – or rather, on the rails, heading to London via the Eurostar through the Channel Tunnel 🚝. This week we’re at the Royal Geographical Society, right in the middle of the Hamlyn Symposium on Medical Robotics.

It’s great to see how many different perspectives come together here 💡: researchers, clinicians, and industry experts, all working towards the same goal of advancing medical robotics.

At ITK Engineering GmbH, medical robotics is about much more than technology. It brings together people and disciplines such as kinematics, dynamics, control engineering, signal processing, and software development. It’s where mechanical, electrical, and software engineers meet to solve some of healthcare’s most complex challenges.
