Two exciting days at iVTExo in Cologne are behind us. Thank you to everyone who visited us at the Bosch Rexroth booth and engaged in valuable discussions

In addition to many insightful conversations about the future of the off-highway industry, our experts also had the opportunity to share their expertise on the iVT stages:
🔹 At the iVT Conference, Roland & Stefan spoke about the safe integration of hydrogen storage systems as a key enabler for the decarbonization of off-highway powertrains
🔹 At the iVT Live Zone, Max provided insights into the software-defined approach for mobile and stationary machines.

Thank you to everyone who participated at our presentations and for the valuable discussions at our booth.

Let’s shape the future of off-highway technologies together.

Medical robotics requires far more than transferring industrial robotics technologies into a healthcare environment. Successful development depends on seamlessly integrating software, mechanics, and electronics – combined with a deep understanding of clinical workflows, usability, safety, and regulatory requirements 📋🎯

One example is human-robot interaction. Healthcare professionals need robotic systems that can be positioned intuitively, precisely, and with minimal physical effort, even during long and demanding procedures. Achieving this requires sophisticated system capabilities such as weight compensation, force sensing, and intention recognition, all tailored to the unique needs of medical applications. ✨

These challenges highlight why robotics expertise must be combined with deep medical device know-how and regulatory compliance to create systems that truly meet the needs of healthcare professionals and patients.

Meet us at the Hamlyn Symposium on Medical Robotics in London next week. Our robotics experts will be at our booth📍, ready to share our approach to developing next-generation medical robotic systems and answer all your questions. See you there! 👋

The Hamlyn Symposium on Medical Robotics brings together an international community from clinical practice, research, and industry and provides a leading platform for exchange on current developments and innovation in medical robotics. Through keynotes, workshops, exhibitions, and live demonstration...

Day 2 at the European Medical Device Summit 2026 - Live from Düsseldorf! 🚀

What a fantastic experience it's been so far as Silver Partner here at hosted by Generis! And we’re ready for more today! ✨

What we cherish most about this event is the direct 1:1 interaction with top leaders from major MedTech players. 🤝 Our initial meetings have already offered valuable insights into their current development challenges, and we're eager to dive even deeper in the upcoming follow-ups. Understanding their journey – from initial concept to market-ready medical products – helps us tailor our support precisely where it's needed most. 💡

Thank you to our healthcare crew Lutz Schüle, Ulrich Sutter and Carsten Neupert for your passion in representing ITK Engineering GmbH and showcasing our system & software engineering expertise! You rock! 😎

There’s still plenty of time to connect! You can find our team at Booth #4. We'd love to learn about your challenges and share how our healthcare engineering services can empower your next medical device innovation.

Looking forward to catching up with many more of you today! 👋

On track together: Our partnership with municHMotorsport

It all kicked off on April 30th at the official rollout of the new municHMotorsport car. Our Motorsport Engineer, Mehdi, was on-site until late into the night, discussing the car´s challenges amidst great team spirit and laughter. Thank you again for the invitation. It was great to connect with current team members and alumni.

Just a week later, on May 8th, we continued with the first hand-on workshop of the season. Our ITK experts, Mehdi and Josep, led 20 team members in a deep dive into Vehicle Dynamics. Together, we explored key performance factors – from tyre characteristics, load transfer and lateral dynamics to vehicle balance and suspension kinematics. Thanks to all participants for joining, asking questions, discussing and working together on some practical engineering exercises. It was fun!

We´re excited to continue sharing our passion and expertise. Wishing the entire municHMotorsport team the best of luck for the season!

Medconf 2026 in Munich – 3 days fully packed with our favourite topic: software and device development for medical products!

As this event draws to an end, it’s time for a BIG THANK YOU🙏:
❤️To everyone who connected with us on-site!
❤️ To our Healthcare Crew: Lutz Schüle, Alexander Velec, Joachim Wilke, Tobias Luksch, Tobias Steinacker and Richard de Klerk. You all rocked 💪 our exhibition, two insightful presentations on “Medical Robotics” and “Securely connecting medical devices” as well as our coaching session on “AI as a documentation assistant”, which is still ongoing.
❤️ And of course, to MedConf which basically is our “living room” for about 10 years now.

We really enjoyed the dialogue with the community, weather during the conference or afterwards in the evenings, and we look forward to continuing our conversations.

Are you ready for the new EU Machinery Regulation (MR)?

Starting January 20, 2027, the new EU Machinery Regulation (MR) will fully apply, introducing significant changes to CE conformity requirements. Many companies are now asking themselves: How can we ensure compliance by this deadline?

🤔 Who is affected?
All companies placing machinery or safety components on the EU market.

✨What are the main changes?
* Software as a safety product: Software performing safety-related functions is now classified as a safety component.
* Artificial Intelligence (AI) & Machine Learning (ML): Systems with self-evolving behavior (AI/ML) in safety functions are classified as "high-risk" and must comply with stricter requirements.
* Cyber Security: The MR explicitly requires protection against corruption and unauthorized manipulation. This means new, mandatory requirements for cyber security, including risk assessment, protection of safety-critical data, and logging.

🤝 How can we support you?
The deadline until transition is approaching fast, and the lack of harmonized standards presents an additional challenge. As an experienced partner in safety and security, we offer tailor-made solutions to guide you safely through the transition.

We are happy to support you in ensuring the conformity of your products in 2027 and beyond.

The new EU Product Liability Directive (PLD) is here. ⚖️ And it expands the scope on how manufacturers of machines, consumer electronics and other products placed on the EU market or put into service in the EU can be held liable.

Important changes that will apply from 9 December 2026, what you need to know
* Software (including AI systems and software updates) is now explicitly covered by the PLD. So are digital manufacturing files and raw materials.
* Fault-independent liability: manufacturers are liable for damage caused by defective products, regardless of fault.
* In addition to traditional physical damages, claims can now arise from data loss or psychological harm.
* Cyber security vulnerabilities enter the game. If a product lacks security updates while it remains under the manufacturer’s control, it can be considered “defective”.
* The liability risks for manufacturers increase as the new PLD shifts the burden of proof toward them.

The good news is: Properly applying existing regulations and standards, applicable to your product, can substantially reduce many of the new liability risks.

Latest regulations and new editions of standards also provide a scope extension, similar to the PLD 💡
* EU Machinery Regulation & harmonized standards (e.g., EN ISO 12100, EN ISO 13849, Draft EN 50742, ...)
* EU Low Voltage Directive & harmonized standards (e.g., EN 60204-1, EN 60335, EN 60730, …)
* UNECE Regulations (e.g., R79, R13, R13-H, R155 and related safety & cyber security standards (e.g., ISO 21434, …)
* Cyber Resilience Act (CRA) & to-be-harmonized standards: already require security patches over a product’s lifetime.

Are you ready for the new PLD? If you’re unsure how this affects your products, contact Jens Köhler and let’s talk! 👋 💬
