SIMTOS 2026 is a wrap — and what an incredible week it has been. 🤝

As part of the global SMEC family, we were proud to stand alongside our colleagues in Korea as they showcased the full breadth of SMEC innovation to visitors from all over the world. 🌏

First, our In‑House Event in Gimhae opened the doors to SMEC’s production and R&D facilities. Live machining, engineering insights, and countless conversations made it one of the most engaging moments of the entire week. 🏭

Across the next five days at KINTEX, visitors showed strong interest in our 21 machines, confirming once again how SMEC’s commitment to reliability, accuracy, and real‑world performance resonates across the industry.

A big thank you to everyone who visited, shared feedback, exchanged ideas, and helped make this week such a success.

The countdown is almost over. 🚀

Today, SIMTOS 2026 opens its doors — and as part of the global SMEC family, we are proud to support our colleagues in Korea as they showcase the very best of SMEC engineering.

Until Friday, we will present 21 machines, representing the full strength of our machining and turning portfolio, including:

🔹 MVF 5000: A 5‑axis machining center built for complex geometries and stable precision.

🔹 NS 1600T2Y2: Parallel machining with twin spindles and twin turrets — all in one setup.

🔹 STX 2600ST: A multi‑function turning center delivering accuracy during long, demanding cycles.

And while SIMTOS is underway, SMEC’s In‑House Event at our headquarters in Gimhae runs in parallel — offering visitors exclusive behind‑the‑scenes insights into production, R&D, and live machining. 🏭

Paris – world-famous for the stunning Arc de Triomphe, the magnificent Notre Dame and, of course, the iconic Eiffel Tower. But at the end of March, the industrial sector found itself in a whole new world: at Global Industrie 2026. 👀

Our colleagues were also right in the thick of things, supporting our partner TRANSTEC MACHINES OUTILS, who really stole the show with the presentation about SL2500BY.

The heavy-duty, ultra precision Turning Center got a lot of attention thanks to its highly reliable and robust construction. The hydraulic valve gauge and control valve are raised to the operator's height, making maintenance easier.

It's a great combo for any manufacturer looking to get the job done comfortably.

Some trade fairs have a special kind of energy, and Konepaja 2026 in Tampere was definitely one of them. 🤩

Our partner @‌MAKRUM took the stage with an impressive highlight: the SMEC NS2000BLM, showcased to visitors looking for reliability, power, and precision in one turning solution. The machine drew strong attention thanks to its blend of stability and performance. A combination that makes it a standout choice for manufacturers seeking productivity with confidence.

Two turrets. Two Y‑axes.
A configuration so essential that it’s written directly into the name of our newest multi-tasking lathe: NS1600T2Y2.

Because when both left and right spindles can turn, Y axis mill and interpolate independently at the same time, complexity stops being a barrier — and becomes a workflow advantage.

Parallel machining replaces sequential steps. OP10 and OP20 no longer wait for each other. And the part stays exactly where it should be: clamped once, untouched, undisturbed.

The result?
Fewer re‑clamps, fewer tolerance risks and far less time lost in handling.
A smoother path for precision. A faster path for throughput.

This March belongs to the machines!

In March, we are sending our machines on a journey across Europe, because this month not only crocuses are sprouting, but also machine tool exhibitions. 🌷 ⚙️

🗺️At the beginning of the month, our machines will be presented by LGT at BIEMH in Bilbao, Spain.

🗺️At the same time, GMV Macchine Utensili srl will exhibit them at MECSPE in Bologna, Italy.

🗺️Mid-March, they'll be heading north to Konepaja 2026 in Tampere, Finland, where MAKRUM will be exhibiting.

🗺️The European tour ends with GLOBAL INDUSTRIE in Paris, France, presented by TRANSTEC MACHINES OUTILS.

New Year, New Opportunities – Let’s SMEC it happen in 2026! 🎉

In South Korea – where we have our roots – there used to be a unique tradition: everyone turned a year older on January 1st, regardless of their actual birthday. So in a way, today was everyone's birthday. 🎂

Even though that tradition officially ended in 2023, we love the idea of starting the year together – with a shared sense of renewal, progress, and a fresh chapter.
