Yamaha strengthens robotics presence in India

Today, Yamaha Motor announced the opening of a new sales and service facility for its Robotics Business in Gurugram, India — a strategic step to support business expansion in one of the fastest-growing manufacturing markets.
The new facility is designed to:
✅ Strengthen local sales and service capabilities
✅ Improve customer support and response time
✅ Provide a showroom environment where customers can experience Yamaha’s latest robotics solutions first-hand

India’s manufacturing sector is advancing rapidly, with strong growth expected in automation and robotics. With this new base, Yamaha aims to further enhance its presence, support customers more closely, and contribute to productivity improvements on the factory floor.
The facility will initially cover SMT equipment and industrial robots, with future expansion planned into semiconductor back-end equipment.

AI Judgement Station applications can learn from the best human inspectors and support the less experienced, becoming both an automation solution and a consultant to elevate overall inspection performance.

In surface-mount assembly, interest in AI is intense, particularly around automated optical inspection (AOI). The leading electronics manufacturers already expect their equipment suppliers to be able to provide well developed AI tools. On the other hand, some are cautious about how to adapt to working with AI while maximising its potential for accelerating workflow and removing human error. The company, based in Bolton, is the UK manufacturing centre for Astemo, a Tokyo-headquartered global mobility solutions provider in the automotive industry, developing advanced and sustainable technologies. The latest investment at the Bolton site, in the north of England, enhances the company’s facilities for delivering advanced systems.
