The video starts with a question every embedded team knows: what happens when the processor in your product goes end-of-life?

Our answer is FPSC. It is a standard footprint for soldered System on Modules, developed and built here at our site in Mainz. You will see the campus and the production line in the video.

If a Carrier Board is designed around the FPSC footprint and signals, the module can change without redesigning the whole board.

Which actor do you look like?
At VISION in Stuttgart, our iMX 8M Plus answered that question for a lot of people this week.

The Celebrity Face Match demo takes a picture, runs face recognition on the module, and shows the closest match. Everything stays on the device, the image is deleted right after. One colleague got Hugh Jackman. Most visitors photographed their result, so next time we bring a printer.

The team is at the booth until this evening, Hall 8, Booth 8C16. What should we demo next year?

We added a second date for our CRA workshop because the first filled up so quickly. The second one filled up too.

Earlier this year, our Embedded Security webinar also reached its 1,000-person limit.

October is European Cybersecurity Month, and those full events reflect what we’re hearing from customers: they need practical help with security, both for new designs and existing products.

That includes checking for new vulnerabilities, maintaining software, and getting updates onto devices already in use. This work carries on while development teams are busy with their next projects.

In a phyVIP-based vision system, the baseboard is already developed. Your project-specific work concentrates on the Connector Board.

CRA-Anforderungen kennen ist das eine.
Sie korrekt umzusetzen, das andere.

Eine zentrale Rolle im Cyber Resilience Act spielt die Risikobewertung.

Doch wie geht man dabei konkret vor? Wie unterscheidet sich die Bewertung einer Komponente von der eines Systems? Und wie entsteht daraus ein Vorgehen, das sich im eigenen Unternehmen tatsächlich anwenden lässt?

Genau darum geht es am 03. November bei PHYTEC in Mainz.

In unserem Praxis-Workshop mit Prof. Dr. Karl-Heinz Niemann gehen wir den Weg von den regulatorischen Anforderungen bis zur konkreten Anwendung.

Und zwar nicht nur theoretisch: Die Teilnehmenden führen anhand einer Fallstudie selbst eine Risikobewertung durch und arbeiten dabei mit einer konkreten Vorlage, die anschließend auch im eigenen Unternehmen eingesetzt werden kann.

We have released the i.MX 93 FPSC Rapid Development Kit.
The main technical development is the module architecture, NOT the i.MX 93 processor itself.

The i.MX 93 FPSC extends the FPSC Gamma platform.
The kit includes a Yocto-based Linux BSP for direct software and interface evaluation.

The phyFLEX FPSC portfolio:
◆ NXP i.MX 91/93, i.MX 8M Plus, and iMX 95x
◆ TI AM62Lx and AM62Px
◆ STMicroelectronics STM32MP2x
◆ Synaptics SL261x

The NXP i.MX 937/952 module is also coming soon.

When a Carrier Board is designed around the FPSC signals and the required footprint size,
teams can scale performance and features across these module families
without rebuilding the complete hardware architecture.
Module-specific optional and specialized signals remain part of the design-in decision.
