Three rules decide who turns first on the water:

✔️ Port tack gives way to starboard tack
✔️ Windward gives way to leeward
✔️ Overtaking vessel gives way

Always: commercial shipping has the right of way. Sail before engine.

The rule most skippers forget: if you have right of way, hold your course — so the other skipper can read you.

Clear. Decisive. Early.

Four knots hold every catamaran together. Each earns its place.

✔️ Figure of eight → stops sheets from slipping through (the lifesaver)
✔️ Reef knot → joins two equal sheets
✔️ Double sheet knot → joins two unequal sheets
✔️ Bowline → a loop that won't tighten under load

Loop knots only — always releasable under load.
Always undo at the end of the day.

The water's colder than you remember. Your heart races. That's normal.
What matters: stay with the boat. Drill these six steps.

1. Crew check — everyone on the hull?
2. Sheets off, jib furled, spi 1.5 m down
3. Mast pointing into the wind, righting line free
4. Hang on the line — body stretched, parallel to the water
5. As she rises, grab the trampoline center to stabilize
6. Climb back via the boarding aid

Drill it on a calm day. Drill it again. Drill it with your kids.
