𝗪𝗼𝗿𝗸 𝗶𝗻 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗴𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘀 - 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝘀𝘁𝗿𝘂𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝘀𝗶𝘁𝗲 𝗶𝗻𝘀𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁𝘀.
The new laboratory building for the MVZ in Koblenz is almost done — final assembly is underway — and looking at it, you wouldn't immediately guess how much engineering problem-solving went into the facade. 👀
The concept by Vollack Gruppe was clear from the start: a building that belongs to its region. Metal surfaces textured like Mittelrhein slate and white bands running across the facade like the Rhine and Moselle rivers. Simple as an idea, but less simple to build.
With cantilevers up to 1,350 mm, complex geometries and areas demanding a near-perfect finish, none of our standard systems were going to cut it. Therefore we developed a bespoke substructure specifically for this project. 😎
In the end we used BEMO‑BOND composite panels across most of the surface, BEMO‑BOND INVISIO where precision really mattered, TEKOFIX-A++ thermal brackets in the substructure, and partially perforated trapezoidal profiles .
The project is a good reminder that complex facade projects don't have to be a nightmare, they just need the right people talking to each other early enough. 🤝
Great work by the installation team at HPM Fassadentechnik 👏
