From sunlight to flowing water - in three simple steps

With the LORENTZ S system, solar pumping is simple, visible, and reliable:

1. Sunlight hits the PV module
2. The controller converts the energy
3. The pump delivers water

No fuel. No grid. No complexity.

Just connect the pump, controller, and PV module - and start pumping water.

The photos showcase these three key components: module, controller, and pump. This S1-200 system, installed in Argentina, delivers 20,000 liters of water per day using just a single 580 Wp solar module.

Thanks to our partner Rivelli Grupos Electrógenos, this system now provides reliable water supply for livestock stations in Argentina. https://buff.ly/zelvmAs

What is a warranty really worth if the supplier disappears when you need support?

At LORENTZ, reliability goes beyond the product itself - it’s about long-term commitment to the people who depend on our systems every day.

That’s why we still provide spare parts for systems installed more than 15 years ago.

And we believe in fair parts pricing too. Replacing parts shouldn’t cost more than replacing the entire system. In fact, you could purchase a complete LORENTZ system as individual spare parts and the total cost would still align fairly with buying a new unit.

Because true sustainability means:

✔️ Long-term support
✔️ Readily available spare parts
✔️ Fair pricing
✔️ Systems designed to last

When customers invest in LORENTZ, they’re investing in a partner committed to supporting their water system for the long run.

4 Things to do to keep your pump running at peak performance

While there is no scheduled maintenance required with LORENTZ solar pumping solutions, there are a few things you can do to keep your system running at peak performance:

✅️ 1. Keep it clean for peak performance
Maximize the efficiency of your LORENTZ solar water pumping system by regularly cleaning your solar panels. Dust and debris can reduce energy absorption, which affects water pumping. A quick clean with a soft cloth and water can make a big difference!

✅️ 2. Inspect connections regularly
For optimal performance, routinely check the wiring and connections of your LORENTZ system. Look for any signs of wear or corrosion, damage done by animals, and tighten any loose connections. Regular inspections help keep your system running smoothly and prevent unexpected issues.

✅️ 3. Monitor your pump via the LORENTZ App
Stay ahead of potential issues by using the LORENTZ app to monitor your solar pump's performance. The app provides real-time data, so you can ensure your pump is working efficiently and catch any problems early.

✅️ 4. Keep vegetation in check
Ensure your LORENTZ solar panels receive maximum sunlight by keeping the area around them clear of overgrown plants. Regular trimming of tall grass, bushes, and trees prevents shadows from reducing your system's efficiency.

Start with these simple checks today to get the most out or your solar pumping system.

Water that never stops. Even when the sun does.

Imagine a community where
☀️ The sun powers the entire water supply during the day
🌙 And water keeps flowing when it matters most

No interruptions. No fuel. No uncertainty.

A LORENTZ PS2 solar pumping system:
🔹 Is designed to pump all required water using solar energy
🔹 Lifts water to elevated storage tanks for pressurized, gravity-fed distribution 24 hours per day
🔹 Can automatically top up from grid or generator when needed

Smart sensors continuously manage the system:
🔹 Monitoring water levels in both the source and storage tank
🔹 Automatically controlling pumping to match real-time demand
🔹 Protecting the system with features like a well probe and tank float switch

What this really means:
🔹 Clean water, available 24/7
🔹 Reliable, automated operation with minimal intervention
🔹 Lower costs and greater resilience for the community

This is what modern water infrastructure looks like in action. Thanks to our partner Sunelec Photovoltaic Solutions Incorporated, who installed the system in Calapan in the Philippines, the community now has a reliable and uninterrupted water supply.

Restoring peatlands starts with restoring water levels. 💧🌱

Peatlands are among the most effective natural carbon stores on Earth, holding roughly twice as much carbon as all the world’s forests combined, even though they cover only about 3% of the global land surface. (source: German BUND https://buff.ly/xmCcmVp )

But when peatlands are drained and groundwater levels drop, peat begins to oxidize. This releases significant amounts of CO₂ and the land surface can slowly subside as the peat decomposes.

One of the most effective ways to address this is rewetting: restoring the natural hydrology so peat soils remain saturated.

In a recent project, a solar-powered infiltration system helps maintain stable groundwater levels across 8 hectares of peat meadow (about 11 football fields). Operating off-grid and guided by water level sensors, the system adjusts automatically to maintain the target water level.

Projects like this illustrate an important lesson: successful ecosystem restoration often depends on understanding and managing water. Reliable groundwater monitoring and adaptive water control can play a key role in supporting long-term landscape recovery.

At LORENTZ, we are interested in how smart, renewable-powered water management can contribute to solutions that work with nature rather than against it.

Solar energy works everywhere — even in Sweden. ☀️💧

Solar water pumping is often associated with hot, sunny regions. But real-world installations in southern Sweden show that reliable solar-powered water supply is possible far beyond traditional “sunbelt” climates.

This system features a LORENTZ PS2 submersible pump powered by eight solar modules (3.8 kWp total), delivering up to 260,000 liters of water per day. A strong example that solar pumping performs not only in northern climates, and not just at low output, but at full capacity.

With LORENTZ Global monitoring, performance can be checked anytime, anywhere. The pump operates automatically whenever sunlight is available, while remote access allows operators to monitor and control the system online whenever needed.

Solar Water Pumps – 5 Myths busted

Myth 1 ❌
Solar pumps only work for small water needs

✅ Reality: Solar pumps are scalable. They can be used for small domestic needs, irrigation for a few acres, or even large commercial farms, depending on the size of the solar array and pump capacity.

Myth 2 ❌
Solar pumps are expensive

✅ Reality: While the initial cost may be higher than diesel or electric pumps, solar pumps have very low running costs (no fuel, low maintenance), and they can pay for themselves in under 2 years.

Myth 3 ❌
Solar pumps don't work on cloudy days

✅ Reality: Solar pumps do need sunlight to operate at full capacity, but many systems can still work partially on cloudy days. Some setups include solar batteries or hybrid connections to ensure water supply when sunlight is insufficient or at night. Water can also be stored in tanks for use during overcast periods.

Myth 4 ❌
Solar pumps are new and unreliable

✅ Reality: We have been installing solar water pumps for over 30 years. Systems have been installed and running for over 10 years without failures.

Myth 5 ❌
Solar pumps require complex technology or special skills

✅ Reality: Modern solar water pumping systems are designed to be user-friendly and largely automated. Most systems are plug-and-play, with intuitive controllers that manage pump operation without constant supervision. Farmers or homeowners usually need only basic training to install and operate the system safely.

Save fuel. Save money. Pump smarter.
