After 35 years of successful office history, we at Heine Plan are taking the next step: In January, we joined the Verka Collective around a group of Danish architectural firms.

Verka Collective currently has around 250 employees and brings together renowned firms such as Vilhelm Lauritzen Architects and STED City & Landscape from Copenhagen and Kjaer & Richter from Aarhus. Together with our partners we are currently growing from 250 employees with the goal of bringing together more than 1.000 architects in Europe in the end of 2028.

What convinced us about Verka:

Independence of the offices – strong local brands are retained
Diverse expertise – exchange within a European network of excellent architectural firms
Greater impact – advantage of economies of scale

Being part of a larger organisation gives us access to shared resources, expertise and markets, while enabling us to develop our work in a stable and sustainable manner.

Since its opening in October 2024, the Emotion Kino at Monheimer Tor has become one of the most important cultural destinations. This contemporary cinema experience combines refined architecture, interior design, and advanced media technology.

M O N H E I M M E R K U R - A W A R D

On September 1st, we received the Monheimer Merkur from Mayor Daniel Zimmermann – a unique award sculpted by Karl-Heinz Pohlmann

Together with Isabel Port and the development team of Matthias Böning, Dr. Christof Glatzel, and Stefan Klug, we were honored for our role in creating a vibrant city center where architecture, retail, and urban life come together. Seeing how naturally people have embraced this new center confirms that vision.

The journey isn’t over – with the 3rd construction phase, we’ll complete the central square and continue shaping Monheim Mitte until 2028.

M O N H E I M M I T T E is growing – Groundbreaking for Phase 3 🚀
Another big milestone for our city center! Together with Mayor Daniel Zimmermann, MEZ CEO Isabel Port, our project partners from Boening Glatzel Klug, we celebrated the groundbreaking of the 3rd construction phase today.

With the official handover of permits and documents, the next stage is ready to go. After the successful completion of the first two phases – most recently the opening of Monheimer Tor in October 2024 – Phase 3 will bring new shops, modern offices, and stylish apartments, making Monheim Mitte even more vibrant.

’s first new concept retail space in Chengdu, at the Chengdu Taikoo Li flagship store – a landmark and historic center of Chinese culture 🇨🇳

Montblanc Chengdu marks the debut of a refined new design vision:
• Sustainable paper tiles pay tribute to traditional craftsmanship.
• A paper chandelier echoes the inverted Montblanc peak.
• The carpet flows like ink in water, and wall panels reinterpret the iconic logo.

M O N H E I M | A city center reinvented
 The images show four site plans detailing the different phases of Monheim Mitte’s urban transformation.

In just a few years, the city has undergone a bold redesign: - The Rathauscenter, Heinestraße, and Eierplatz were modernized
- A new pedestrian-friendly boulevard now connects key areas - The newly reopened Monheimer Tor is more than just a building — it’s a vibrant hub with a shopping mall, cinema, hotel, and parking garage

And the story continues: Phase 3, now underway across the street, will complete the future-ready city center — with smart urban planning, sustainable design, and more spaces for people to meet, move, and live.

H A U S A D E N

Haus Aden in Bergkamen is being transformed into a modern mine water management site. As one of six central drainage points in the Ruhr area, it plays a crucial role in protecting the region from uncontrolled mine water rise and environmental risks.

Since 2019, the site has been transitioning to a well-based drainage system, with new submersible pump technology, updated pipelines, and a planned water treatment facility.

An architecturally designed lifting facility replaces the former winding tower, making the technology visible while preserving the site’s industrial heritage.
