Stadtquartier maxfrei | Düsseldorf
A new urban neighborhood on historic grounds redefined through light.
Our lighting concept transforms the diverse site that is located on a former prison area into a calm, contemporary urban park by
layering precise accent lighting, glare-free pathways, and gobo projections that
simulate natural daylight patterns after dark.
Key aspects of the concept:
→ human centered lighting for orientation, safety & comfort
→ Controlled glare-free pathways within an open landscape
→ Gobo projections creating soft, natural rhythms at night
→ inviting accent lighting in outdoor seating areas
→ Integrated lighting control enabling adaptive scenes as the landscape grows
→ Wayfinding and CI
The result:
An urban open space that balances safety, orientation and atmosphere,
supporting long-term use and spatial identity within a new neighborhood.
