Something new is making its global debut in Shenzhen.

On September 12, reTerminal Sticky will take center stage at the OpenELAB × Seeed Studio E-Paper Creative Workshop.

This public-interest workshop is created to make ePaper education, hands-on learning, and access to emerging products more open to everyone.

Today, we visited our partner Elecrow and got a firsthand look at how the CrowPanel HMI displays and ThinkNode series move through production, from SMT assembly to final testing. 🏭

🎵 A group of children. No shared language. One shared beat.

Meet TAMBUM—a collaborative electronic instrument designed to help children start making music together within minutes.

Built around five M5Stack Dials, TAMBUM allows four players to create rhythms, bass, chords, pads, and melodies through simple turning and tapping. A central controller keeps everyone in the same tempo and key, while the round table gives every child an equal place in the experience.

No complicated menus and no previous musical experience required. The project grew out of two years of workshops with children and teenagers in Berlin-Neukölln.

We first noticed TAMBUM through a five-star review and several fascinating photos shared on our website. After reaching out, we discovered the thoughtful story behind the project.

Thank you so much to TAMBUM for sharing this project, its story, and this wonderful video with us. We’re thrilled to help more people learn about it. 💛

From kinematics to real robot motion! 🤖

On August 29, OpenELAB welcomed an engaged group of makers to Garching for our hands-on workshop, “From Kinematics to Motion: Hands-On Robotics with reBot Arm.”

Rather than simply introducing the reBot Arm, the workshop brought robot kinematics and control concepts into practice. Participants worked directly with the robot, explored different control workflows, tested movements, asked questions and exchanged ideas throughout the session.

What made the day special was the active participation—a room full of hands-on learning, experiments, discussions and collaboration.

Thank you to everyone who joined us and contributed to the experience. Special thanks to Seeed Studio for the support, and to all the colleagues who helped make the workshop possible.
