The elegant spiral staircase of the former First Church of Christ Scientist in Basel presented architects and metal fabricators with a unique challenge: integrating fall protection without compromising the building's iconic architecture.

🏔️ When every component has to be delivered to the construction site by helicopter.
The renovation of the Rastenbach Gorge in South Tyrol was anything but an ordinary construction project. Bridges, stairways, platforms - and even the tools - had to be transported into the steep terrain by helicopter.
To provide visitors with safe and durable walkways, MEVACO Expanded Metal Hexagon 45×13.5×5 made of Corten steel was selected for every tread surface.

Steep gorges, wet pathways and changing weather conditions place the highest demands on materials and construction. In the Rastenbach Gorge in South Tyrol, MEVACO Expanded Metal helps visitors experience nature safely.

🌉 When expanded metal leads the way to an unforgettable experience.
Architecture can be more than functional—it can create emotions. The Glass Emotion Bridge in Varese, Italy, is the perfect example.

Created for Varese Design Week, this walkable installation combined glass, steel and MEVACO Expanded Metal to give visitors the sensation of walking through the air above the city's central square.
The staircase, clad with MEVACO Expanded Metal Rhomb 62×20×7.5, guided visitors to the glass bridge while combining design and functionality:
