A retrospect to day 2 of the 27th Arab-German Business Forum and to the speech of the new GHORFA president Olaf Hoffmann.

The Official Opening commenced with a warm welcome from Ghorfa's new President, Mr. Olaf Hoffmann. He expressed gratitude to his predecessor, Dr. Ramsauer, & shared his vision for Ghorfa's future development. Mr. Hoffmann emphasized the importance of expanding Ghorfa's network with various business organizations & business associations across Germany & the Arab world, particularly at regional and municipal levels, as Ghorfa approaches its 50th anniversary. Additionally, he highlighted the goal of making Ghorfa more digital, younger & more inclusive by increasing female participation.

H.E. Dr. Mustapha Adib, Ambassador of Lebanon and Dean of the Arab Diplomatic Corps, highlighted the crucial role of Arab-German economic & business relations. He emphasized the forum's role in fostering mutual benefits between German & Arab entrepreneurs.

H.E. Dr. Said Mohammed Al-Saqri, Ministry of Economy of the Sultanate of Oman, praised the forum as an essential platform for Arab-German economic exchange, uniting decision-makers from both regions. H.E identified AI, smart cities, logistics, & resilient supply chains as key areas with significant synergy potential, with a special focus on logistics and tourism as strategically important sectors in the Arab world.

H.E. Sameer Abdullah Nass, President of the Union of Arab Chambers, & Chairman of Bahrain Chamber of Commerce & Industry highlighted the numerous opportunities for economic cooperation between the Arab world & Germany. H.E. noted the Arab world's substantial GDP of $3.5 trillion & emphasized the further potential from untapped resources, a large pool of well-educated young people, & the benefits of technology and knowledge transfer.

H.E. Sheikh Khaled Juffali, Chairman of the Juffali Group and the Saudi-German Business Council, discussed Vision 2030 & outlined the opportunities for German companies to collaborate on initiatives such as the NEOM & Red Sea Projects. He highlighted Saudi Arabia's transformation into an economic hub driven by innovative developments. The Saudi government's goal to produce a million electric cars soon, along with the increasing female workforce participation, reflects the country's evolving social & economic landscape.

State Secretary H.E. Dr. Franziska Brantner stressed the importance of cooperation between Germany & the Arab world in addressing global challenges such as climate change and geopolitical instability. She also highlighted Oman's potential in solar energy and hydrogen production, marking it as a standout partner country.

Building Bridges between Germany and the Arab World" was the motto of the of the 27th Arab-German Business Forum in Berlin last week with acting as Premium Partner. The forum started with leadership changes within Ghorfa Arab-German Chamber Of Commerce and Industry Ghorfa, with Mr. Olaf Hoffmann taking over the Presidency from PeterRamsauer (MdB). Mr. Hoffmann highlighted the importance of Arab-German relations in his reception speech, followed by a speech by H.E. Mrs. Julia Klöckner, former Federal Minister and economic policy spokesperson for the CDU/CSU parliamentary group.
