In 2019, KSB set ambitious sustainability goals for 2025. Now, the company is taking stock of its progress and defining new targets for 2030. ♻️

The results show significant progress: direct greenhouse gas emissions have been reduced by 38% compared to 2018, while important milestones have also been achieved in workplace safety, employee development, and sustainable supplier management.

Driving Innovation Together: KSB Supports Project ASTRID 🚀

How do you launch a student-built rocket safely, efficiently, and sustainably? This is exactly the challenge being tackled by the team behind Project ASTRID from Space Team Aachen. Their ambitious goal: to compete in the European Rocketry Challenge (EuRoC) 2026 with a self-developed hybrid rocket.

A key focus of the project is the further development of the test stand and the reduction of noise emissions during engine tests. This is where KSB comes in. With our pump technology, we support the project in implementing an innovative water deluge system that injects water directly into the exhaust plume, significantly reducing noise levels. 🔧

This collaboration demonstrates how industrial expertise and student engineering talent can work together to create pioneering solutions for the future. We are proud to be part of this exciting mission and to support the next generation of engineers on their journey.

Modern Technology in a Historic Setting 💧

With the modernization of the Groß Schönwalde waterworks, Stadtwerke Greifswald has demonstrated how historic responsibility and future-ready infrastructure can go hand in hand. The more than 100-year-old listed brick building was extensively refurbished and equipped with powerful, energy-efficient technology. ⚙️

The key objective was to ensure a reliable drinking water supply for around 60,000 people while significantly reducing energy consumption. With KSB pump solutions, including Etabloc and Multitec combined with PumpDrive 2, a demand-driven, variable-speed operation was implemented.
The result: optimized performance and an energy saving of approximately 15%. 💡
