Still Going Strong After 32 Years – Kolbermoor T-260
 
At Erhard Muhr GmbH we enjoy reflecting on our successful projects. One of them is Kolbermoor which we completed in 1994.
Three units of our proud Muhr T-260 trash rack cleaners were installed there. The T-260 removes debris from the water and moves it into a container with the aid of chain conveyors.
32 years later these units are still operating reliably. They are a remarkable example of precise durable and innovative engineering.
Projects like this show that high quality engineering and strong collaboration remain valuable over time.
We are proud that our solutions continue to make an impact even decades later.

🌏 Bhutan – Engineering Strength for Mangdechhu

In 2016, Erhard Muhr GmbH proudly delivered one of its most remarkable trash rack cleaning machines to the Mangdechhu Hydropower Plant in Bhutan — a milestone project realized in close cooperation with Druk Green Power Corporation Limited, to whom we extend our sincere thanks for the trust and collaboration. 

This project showcases Muhr’s commitment to precision engineering on a global scale.

At the heart of the installation stands the Catronic SV-6000, a true giant built for the challenging conditions of the Himalayas. With an impressive cleaning depth of 38,000 mm, a total machine weight of 40,000 kg, and a towering screen height of 12,450 mm, this unit defines reliability and power in every movement.

The SV-6000 is designed for semi-automatic and manual operation, giving operators full control and flexibility during demanding cleaning cycles. 
Its performance is complemented by an unmistakable neon-orange finish — a bold symbol of visibility, safety, and Muhr engineering confidence.

Nearly a decade later, this machine continues to ensure efficient and safe hydropower generation at Mangdechhu, contributing to Bhutan’s clean energy future.

As part of a major project in the Bulk Segment, Erhard Muhr supplied 24 loading systems to Coperion America – a milestone that once again demonstrates our expertise in large-scale loading technology projects.
At the heart of each system: the BULK LOADING TELESCOPE with Telescopic Pipe Loading Spout Positioner and Product Distributor inside the filling area – a combination that stands for engineering precision and reliability Made in Germany.
These systems safely and efficiently load bulk materials such as granulates into trucks, containers, or silos – ensuring low-dust operation, high throughput, and reliable performance even under demanding conditions.

Looking back on one of our remarkable international projects: 

In 2014, Erhard Muhr GmbH delivered a 𝗖𝗮𝘁𝗿𝗼𝗻𝗶𝗰 𝗦𝗩-𝟲𝟬𝟬𝟬 𝗗𝗖 𝘁𝗼 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗖𝗮𝗰𝗵𝗶 𝗛𝘆𝗱𝗿𝗼𝗽𝗼𝘄𝗲𝗿 𝗣𝗹𝗮𝗻𝘁 𝗶𝗻 𝗖𝗼𝘀𝘁𝗮 𝗥𝗶𝗰𝗮– a true example of durable engineering made to perform under challenging conditions.

With an impressive cleaning length of 𝟳𝟬 𝗺𝗲𝘁𝗲𝗿𝘀 and 𝗮 𝘁𝗼𝘁𝗮𝗹 𝗺𝗮𝗰𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗲 𝘄𝗲𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁 𝗼𝗳 𝟰𝟱.𝟬𝟬𝟬𝗸𝗴, this trash rack cleaning machine was built to handle extensive surface coverage and floating debris. 

Equipped with 𝗮 𝗿𝗼𝗼𝗳 𝗰𝗿𝗮𝗻𝗲 𝗳𝗲𝗮𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮 𝗴𝗿𝗮𝗽𝗽𝗹𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗮 𝗱𝘂𝗺𝗽 𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗶𝗹𝗲𝗿 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗱𝗲𝗯𝗿𝗶𝘀 𝗱𝗶𝘀𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗴𝗲, the system ensures continuous and reliable operation.

Even years later, the images from Cachi remain striking:

Clean water, clean energy – a strong team. 💧⚙️

For almost five decades, the Bremgarten-Zufikon hydropower plant operated by AEW Energie AG has been harnessing the power of the Reuss River to generate sustainable energy for the Canton of Aargau.

To ensure the facility continues to operate reliably and in an environmentally friendly manner, it has been equipped with a new Trash Rack cleaning machine from MUHR.
The machine cleans the intake Trash Racks to the turbine units and also serves as a Stoplog Lifting / Lowering mechanism.

Designed to fit seamlessly into the existing plant infrastructure, the MUHR machine makes efficient use of the existing flushing channel for the removal of debris.

We are proud to support AEW Energie AG in securing hydropower utilization and protecting the Reuss River. 🌊🔋

A 𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐩𝐚𝐜𝐭 𝐟𝐥𝐨𝐨𝐝 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐭𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐬𝐲𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐦 built by Erhard Muhr GmbH was officially commissioned 𝐢𝐧 𝐉𝐮𝐥𝐲 2025 and it’s now fully operational.

⚙️𝐇𝐨𝐰 𝐢𝐭 𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐤𝐬:
A canal channels water from the nearby river to a hydropower plant.
At a key point along this canal, a 𝐦𝐨𝐯𝐚𝐛𝐥𝐞 𝐛𝐚𝐫𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐫 has been installed.

𝐖𝐡𝐲 𝐢𝐭 𝐦𝐚𝐭𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐬:
It protects the town of Tannhausen from rising water levels during heavy rainfall or floods.

🔒 𝐑𝐞𝐥𝐢𝐚𝐛𝐥𝐞 𝐛𝐲 𝐝𝐞𝐬𝐢𝐠𝐧:
The barrier can be opened or closed safely whenever needed.

In an emergency, the safety gate can also be operated manually using a hand wheel – a built-in layer of redundancy.

A key milestone for flood protection in the region:
The retention basin in Oppenweiler, located on the river Murr, was officially commissioned in July 2025 and is the first step to protect the town from future flooding events.

𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐰𝐚𝐬 𝐬𝐩𝐞𝐜𝐢𝐚𝐥 𝐢𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐬 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐣𝐞𝐜𝐭:
When the barrier is lowered, it doesn’t seal completely to the ground – a deliberate gap of a few centimeters remains.
𝐖𝐡𝐲?
So that residual water can continue to flow through, preventing blockages or overload. The system is now prepared for upcoming challenges.

𝗠𝗼𝘂𝗻𝘁𝗮𝗶𝗻 𝗽𝗼𝘄𝗲𝗿 𝗺𝗲𝗲𝘁𝘀 𝗲𝗻𝗴𝗶𝗻𝗲𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗽𝗿𝗲𝗰𝗶𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻⛰️

At the PICOTE II hydropower station in northern Portugal, modern engineering had to meet one of nature’s toughest environments — solid rock.

To secure the plant’s operation under extreme conditions, Erhard Muhr GmbH supplied a complete HYDROCON shut-off system for ENGIE Solutions back in 2011. And after more than a decade, every part is still running as it should.

This included a special challenge: installing major components deep inside the mountain. With over 11.7 m stroke and hydraulic cylinders longer than 14 m, the tailwater gates had to be positioned in a confined underground space, with zero margin for error.

🔧𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗳𝘂𝗹𝗹 𝘀𝗰𝗼𝗽𝗲 𝗮𝘁 𝗣𝗜𝗖𝗢𝗧𝗘 𝗜𝗜:
• Intake Emergency Gates (2x) – fast-closing hydraulic units
• Tailwater Gates (2x) – long-stroke hydraulics in a cavern tunnel
• Stop Logs (2x) – operated by an integrated stop-log crane
• Complete trash rack and cleaning system
• All hydraulic, electrical, and control systems
