Update from the US West Coast.

Now fully assembled and in position in Oakland, our two STS container cranes are preparing for their next milestone: commissioning for our customer TraPac.

These are the first two Liebherr ship-to-shore cranes of their kind on the US West Coast.

Manufactured in Ireland, these fully electric cranes deliver faster, more consistent container handling while reducing emissions and supporting TraPac’s terminal expansion.

When infrastructure becomes identity. At the Port of Algiers in Algeria, Africa, our customer DP World is shaping its terminal appearance through customised equipment design.

This LHM 420 stands out with its white machinery house combined with a yellow tower and boom, creating a strong and rare visual identity in the terminal.

Known for its versatility, the LHM 420 supports a wide range of operations – from container handling to bulk and general cargo applications. With lifting capacities of up to 124 tonnes and an outreach of up to 48 metres, it has become a true all-rounder in ports worldwide.

The LHM 420 was introduced in 2011 – do you know in how many countries it can be found today?

From planning to progress in Paraguay – this year, we will deliver a customised electric-powered FCC 280 to Paraguay’s largest multipurpose terminal.

Located on the Río Paraguay, Puerto Seguro Fluvial S.A. already operates an FCC 230 and an FCC 280. With the new crane, the team is expanding its container handling capacity while keeping the flexibility to handle different cargo types efficiently.

Designed for exactly these kinds of requirements, the FCC 280 combines a compact footprint with strong performance. Its electro-hydraulic drive will enable emission-free crane operation and help reduce noise levels on site.

For us, this project reflects more than a new delivery. It highlights a long-term partnership and the trust built through daily port operations.

We took part in this year’s Breakbulk Middle East in Dubai, where our colleague Ian McLean from Liebherr Middle East joined Luke King from Project Cargo Professionals for an interview.

Ian McLean, Regional Sales Manager for Maritime Cranes & Port Equipment at Liebherr Middle East, shares insights into how ports in the region are evolving.

He also explains why many terminals are moving towards multipurpose operations and how our mobile harbour cranes can support this shift.

Ian began his career at Liebherr 25 years ago. For the past 11 years, he has been closely involved in strengthening our footprint across the Middle East. This includes key markets such as the UAE, where long-term partnerships and customer proximity remain central to our approach.

Need to order a spare part for a maritime crane? It just got easier.

After many hours of reliable service, some parts eventually need to be replaced. Ideally, the correct part number can be found quickly and easily.

Simply take a photo of the part directly on the crane. Our AI-powered Parts Assistant app identifies installed parts, QR codes, part numbers and text labels in more than 100 languages. Within seconds, you get the right match and can start the ordering process immediately.

The app also supports fleet maintenance. Upcoming service intervals, pre-filled shopping carts and spare parts ordering can all be managed in just a few clicks.

We build strength through our differences. Different sparks. One strong bond.

At our Rostock site in Germany, 1,905 colleagues from 25 nations work side by side every day. Their backgrounds, perspectives and experiences come together as one team. Because diversity is not just a buzzword for us. It is our strongest weld.

From christening to daily operations. Only a few month ago, we celebrated the arrival of the CBG 500 E in New Orleans. Today, the crane is already hard at work on the Mississippi River for our valued customer Associated Terminals.

Seeing the crane operating in real conditions is always the most rewarding part. This is where strong performance, reliability, and efficient bulk handling come together in everyday port operations.

A great milestone for everyone involved in this project. Have you been following the journey from the very beginning?
