As we enter the new year, we are not only saying goodbye to 2025, but also to our long-standing CEO.

After more than a decade at the helm of the Dornier Group, we extend our sincere thanks to Dr. Ralf Gilgen. With his visionary leadership, dedication, and persistence, he has shaped our company into what it is today. We wish him all the best, much success, and exciting new challenges on his future path.

At the same time, we are pleased to welcome Peter Plug as the new CEO of the Dornier Group. He brings extensive international experience from the energy sector and consulting – a strong foundation for continuing the successful development of the Dornier Group and introducing fresh momentum.

We have just wrapped up the 33rd Wind Energy Days in Potsdam – three intense days full of valuable discussions, new ideas, and encounters that have enriched us as a team in the long term.

Our colleagues Martin Proll, Ralph Thilo and Patric Kleineidam were on site and had the opportunity to talk to customers, partners, and many exciting companies throughout the trade fair and at our booth. The direct dialogue, open discussions, and reunion with familiar faces once again demonstrated how important this industry gathering is for us.

A special highlight: on Thursday, our colleague Martin Proll and his band created a great atmosphere and an unforgettable evening – a wonderful end to an inspiring day at the trade fair.

We are taking away many positive impressions and are already looking forward to next year in Linstow!

In the spirit of campus-X-change, the entire day was all about exchange and connection.
Recently, BTU Cottbus hosted its career fair – and the turnout of highly engaged students was truly impressive.

Throughout many direct conversations, we had the chance to meet numerous talented individuals, especially from the programs Hybrid Electric Propulsion, Power Engineering, and Environmental & Resource Management.

What stood out to us in particular:
🌍 the international orientation of the study programs
⚡ the strong interest in future- and sustainability-focused topics
💡 the high level of motivation students brought to every conversation

The event itself also convinced with excellent organization. Additional offers such as professional application photos were very well received.

An inspiring day full of valuable encounters – we will see you again next time!

Industry & Energy: Working together for sustainable growth

As more countries and industries turn away from fossil fuels, one thing becomes clear: the transition to renewable energy is complex. This raises a central question – how can energy development and industrialization evolve hand in hand, ensuring mutual benefit, especially on the African continent? This topic was at the heart of discussions at the African Business Lawyers’ Club (ABLC) Conference in Paris.

Our colleague Boris Westphal joined the panel and, together with other experts, highlighted two critical aspects:
🔹 Access to reliable energy as a foundation for investment
🔹 Innovative financing and collaboration models for sustainable projects

Our projects prove it: powering mines in Africa with renewable energy is not a future vision – it is already in full swing. And it is transforming what is possible.

So, our conclusion is…
🌍 Energy and industry must be developed together if sustainable progress is to become reality.
