In modern sand lime brick construction, up to 30% of wall elements consist of individually cut fitting pieces.

Producing these elements directly in the factory, instead of on site, brings clear advantages:
✔ Higher precision
✔ Less labour required on site
✔ Reduced construction time
✔ Reliable just in time delivery

The Masa wet sawing plant enables the industrial production of customised fitting pieces, based directly on architects’ drawings and detailed wall development plans.

What happens to the quality of your block production
if the right person is not on shift tomorrow?

This is not a theoretical question. It is a business-critical one.

A daily challenge for the plant manager.

In many concrete plants, quality does not depend on the process.
It depends on people.

On experience.
On attention.
On day-to-day performance and motivation.

As long as the right colleague is on shift, everything runs smoothly.
If they are not, the risk increases immediately.

Shift change.
Holidays.
Sick leave.

Suddenly deviations appear.
Not always immediately visible.
But noticeable sooner or later.

You already know the cause:
It is not the material.
Not the machine.
Quality is tied to individuals.

Did someone intervene in time today?
Did someone notice what was changing?
Did it simply slip through?

In many plants, this is reality.
Quality becomes subjective.
Dependent on a few key people.

The real risk is not the defect.
It is the dependency.

If quality stays person-dependent, processes remain vulnerable, shiftdifferences become normal, and decisions become uncertain.

That costs stability.
Predictability.
Customer trust.

Masa’s Optical Quality Control removes that dependency from the process.
Not to control people.
To protect your business.

Freshly produced blocks are inspected in-line.
Automated.
Objective.
24/7.

Quality becomes measurable.
Repeatable.
Independent of who is in charge.

This creates consistency.
Across all shifts.
Even when staff are missing.

Sampling remains incomplete.
Manual visual inspection stays subjective.
Hiring more people does not solve the core problem.

Optical Quality Control is not an extra system.
It is fully integrated into the Masa plant control system.

One interface.
One consistent approach.
One end-to-end process.

If you want to know:
✅ how to decouple quality from individuals
✅ how to reduce operational risk
✅ how to future-proof your production line
then the next step is clear.

In a free initial consultation, we review your situation
and show you whether Optical Quality Control makes sense for your production line.

No obligation.

As a peer-level discussion between professionals.

Dependency does not shrink when you ignore it.
It grows.

When it comes to optimising production processes, speak with the concrete specialists.

As a plant manager, can you be certain of catching quality issues before they turn into costs?

Do you only notice once it is already too late, once scrap has piled up and the discussion begins?

This is a common situation in many concrete production lines.
Not due to negligence.
But because mistakes often only become visible where they are expensive.

At the end of the line.
After curing.
Sometimes the customer is the first to notice.

At that point, it is no longer about quality.
It is about explanations.

Was it the recipe,
the machine,
the shift change, or was it spotted too late?

In many production lines, this is normal.
Quality control reacts too late.

Corrections are hardly possible at that stage.
When scrap has already been produced.

The real risk is not an isolated defect.
It is a process that can only react.

If quality remains reactive, costs stay high, processes stay unstable, and decisions rely on experience rather than facts.

That consumes material.
Time.
Customer trust.

Masa’s Optical Quality Control steps in exactly where quality is created.
Not at the end, but directly within the process.

Freshly produced blocks are inspected in-line.
Automated.
Objective.
Without slowing down your cycle time.

Deviations are detected the moment they occur.
Not once they have already accumulated.

This makes quality controllable.
This gives you confidence in every decision.

Sampling comes too late.
Manual visual inspection stays subjective.
Rework is expensive.

Optical Quality Control is not an additional system.
It is fully integrated into the Masa plant control system.

One interface.
One consistent approach.
One end-to-end process.

If you want to know:
✅ how to detect defects before scrap is produced
✅ how to secure quality independently of personnel
✅ how to stabilise your production long-term
then the next step is simple.

In a free initial consultation, we review your situation and show you that Optical Quality Control makes sense for your production line.

No obligation.
Straightforward.
Waiting costs money.

Every additional day without early quality control costs you money, peace of mind, and operational security.

When it comes to 24/7 quality control, speak with the concrete specialists.

Experienced machine operators often take on numerous additional tasks alongside production and are not at the control station around the clock. This becomes critical when product quality drops unexpectedly during an absence and the machine keeps running.

𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝘀𝗼𝗹𝘂𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻: 𝗠𝗮𝘀𝗮’𝘀 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗳𝗶𝗴𝘂𝗿𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲 𝗔𝘂𝘁𝗼-𝗦𝘁𝗼𝗽 𝗳𝘂𝗻𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻.
✅ If Optical QC detects a defined percentage of defective products across several consecutive cycles, the machine shuts down in a controlled manner.
✅ Single outliers are ignored, we only stop when the machine is poorly adjusted and quality is consistently at risk.
✅ Additionally, the system can halt production if recurring defects appear at the same position. These are highlighted with a double outline in the result image.

𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘂𝗹𝘁: Less waste, higher process reliability, and a production line that protects itself, even when the operator is away.

𝗢𝘂𝗿 𝗠𝗮𝘅𝗶𝗺:
Improving your production processes matters more to us than simply detecting the smallest defects. We believe in preventing defects before they occur, not sorting out faulty products afterwards.

The cutting process defines the final dimensions of every AAC product. Using high precision cutting wires and smooth knives, the green cake is shaped into blocks or panels with remarkable accuracy. Length, width, height, tongues, grooves, all are produced in a single unified process.

The cutting line is engineered for flexibility: product variations, fast adjustment systems, and minimal waste generation are key features. All cutting residues are collected and returned to the slurry preparation, supporting resource efficient production.

We are proud to share that, for the very first time, plane elements with dimensions of 623 × 180 × 998 mm have been successfully produced on the Hydraulic Sand-lime Brick Press Type HDP 1200 Jumbo.

The plant was commissioned in the middle of last year, and this achievement marks an important step in the continuous ramp up of the production line.

A big thank you to everyone involved for making this possible, looking forward to many more milestones ahead!

✅ Precise quality control combined with process optimisation
✅ Faster operator response reduces waste and accelerates production of saleable products
✅ Automatic display of all relevant parameters when switching recipes
✅ Convenient copy function for new products – no time-consuming teaching process

Both the mechanical and electrical installation of the Masa equipment are nearing completion, marking an important milestone on the way to commissioning the new, state-of-the-art AAC plant.

To ensure a smooth start-up, the team from Modern Concrete is already receiving comprehensive training at the Masa headquarters in Porta Westfalica.
This early hands-on preparation equips the future plant operators with the knowledge and skills they need for the commissioning phase and daily operation of the facility.
