Precision is also a temperature game.

A portal milling machine can be rigid. Strong. Massive.
But if you want to machine accurately in microns, you also have to control something you can’t really see: heat.

☀️ Sun through the windows.
🚪 Doors opening and closing.
⚙️ Motors, spindle and moving components generating heat.
🌡️ Temperature changing throughout the day.

And metal reacts.

That’s why thermal stability at TRIMILL is not just one feature. It’s a complete concept.

🔴 protection against external temperature influences
🔴 active temperature stabilization of critical components and heat sources

Test. Adjust. Test again. 🔧📏

That’s basically the job when we’re getting a machine ready for handover.

Our German customer knows exactly what he wants:
TRIMILL VFC 3021, travels X 3,000 / Y 2,100 / Z 1,500 mm — and accuracy within 10 microns.

So we measure.
We make a test cut.
We check the results.
Adjust what’s needed.
And run it again.

And again, if necessary. 😎

The machine assembly has to be right from the start, of course. Then our application engineers and PLC guys take over and fine-tune everything until the numbers are where they should be.

Machinists know exactly what we mean.

F4/F5 fork-type milling head going hard.
Coolant everywhere. Chips flying. Proper cutting sounds.

Basically… a pretty good day at work.

Our TRIMILL VU 3021 with rotary table is doing its thing at a customer in Czechia. No showroom. No staged demo. Just real production.

And if you’re into machining, you know how it goes.

You stop for “just a second” to watch the cut…
and five minutes later you’re still standing there.

We simply love milling.

And judging by this video, our machines at customers’ sites seem to enjoy it just as much.

Chips flying, the tool moving smoothly and everything working exactly as it should - this is pure eye candy for us. And honestly, a little food for the soul too.

A few phone shots from our customer in Zagreb.

No studio. No special setup. Just a TRIMILL VU 3021 doing what it was built to do.

This 6-axis portal milling machine is equipped with a rotary table and our T30C CSC milling head:

Titanium, chips and six axes working together.

This part is being machined on our 6-axis TRIMILL VU 3021 in our toolshop in Vsetín.

The machine is equipped with a rotary table and a T30C CSC 2-axis fork-type milling head. This combination allows us to machine the complete part from five sides in one clamping - from roughing to final finishing.

Fewer setups mean less handling, fewer chances for error and better control over the final accuracy.

The VU 3021 offers a large working area while keeping a surprisingly compact footprint. The machine is also available with modular X-axis lengths and can be configured for milling or as a mill-turn solution.

Now enjoy the titanium, the chips and the movement of all six axes.

Final testing before handover.

This video was filmed during the last fine-tuning of our TRIMILL VU 3525 at @ .

Before the machine enters daily production, everything has to work properly. Machine geometry, probes, tool magazine, chip conveyors, filtration system, test machining, operator training and maintenance training — every detail is checked.

Only when everything works together is the machine ready for handover.

The VU 3525 is now in production at Bohemia Rings, and we are very happy to see it doing the job it was built for.
