Social media have become an integral part of the internet and modern communication. In order to stay in contact with our customers and potential customers, we have also created our own fan page on Facebook. Facebook is a service provided by Facebook Inc., 1601 S. California Ave, Palo Alto, CA 94304, USA, and is certified under the EU/US Privacy Shield. Under the Implementing Decision (EU) 2016/1250 of the EU Commission of 12 July 2016, the level of protection of the EU/US Privacy Shields has been recognised as essentially equivalent to that guaranteed within the Union.
We expressly stipulate that Facebook stores the data (e.g.IP address, preferences and personal interests, behaviour on pages, any personal information saved in Facebook etc.) of users and uses these for business purposes.
We have no control over the processing and further use of these data as Facebook alone determines the processing. It is not currently possible for us to trace the extent to which, where and for what duration the data are stored, to what extent the date are linked and analysed, or to whom the data are transferred. We also have no insight into or control over to deletion periods, i.e. to what extent deletion periods are adhered to.

If you are a Facebook user and are logged into your Facebook user account, Facebook can assign the visit to our page to your user account. If you want to prevent Facebook from linking data about your visit to our fan page with your user data stored by Facebook, you must
log out prior to any visit to our fan page on Facebook
delete the cookies on your device
and close and restart your browser.
According to Facebook, this will delete all information by which Facebook can identify you.
2. Scope of data collection and storage
In order to be able to view the content on our Facebook fan page, you must be a Facebook user. Upon every visit to our pages, data will be collected, stored and used.
The moment you call up our fan page, your browser will establish a connection with a Facebook server. By doing so, data may be transferred to countries outside the European Union. In any case, whether you are registered with Facebook or not, your IP address will be transferred and cookies will be saved. If you are a Facebook user and are logged into your Facebook user account, Facebook can assign the visit to our page to your user account.
The cookies used include session cookies, which are deleted when the browser is closed, and persistent cookies, which remain on the end device until they expire or are deleted by the user. A cookie is a tiny text file which allows a website to recognise a browser. Cookies are placed on the computer when a website is accessed and retrieved and read when the web server is accessed again. Using your browser settings, you can decide whether and which cookies you want to allow, block or delete. You will also find instructions for various browsers here: Internet Explorer, Firefox, Google Chrome, Google Chrome mobile, Microsoft Edge, Safari, Safari mobile. Alternatively, you can install ad-blockers, such as Ghostery.
According to Facebook, the cookies used by Facebook are used for authentication, security, website and product integrity, advertisement and measurements, website functions and services, performance as well analysis and research. You can apply settings on which advertisements Facebook should or should not show you at https://www.facebook.com/about/basics/advertising and at http://www.youronlinechoices.com.
You can manage your preferences with regard to usage-based online advertising on the above link. If you object to usage-based online advertising using the preference manager offered by a certain provider, this shall only apply to the given business data collection via the web browser being used. Preference management is cookie-based. Deleting all browser cookies will result in the preferences you have set with the preference manager also being removed.

We generally only store personal data until the relevant purpose for which the data was collected has been achieved. Within the scope of a business relationship with you, we will store your personal data for as long as the business relationship lasts, which also includes the initiation and implementation of a contract as well as the regular limitation period. We will also store the data if and to the extent that we are subject to statutory retention periods. Such obligations may arise from the Commercial Code (Handelsgesetzbuch, HGB) or the Tax Code (Abgabenordnung, AO).
If we have been given consent for a processing operation, then the data associated with the consent will be stored until withdrawal or no longer than the duration of the process operation and after the end of the same within the scope of the limitation period.
3. Facebook Insights
We use the Facebook Insights function for statistical analysis purposes. In this connection, we receive anonymous data on the users of our Facebook fan page. This does not enable us to identify you. See the Facebook cookie guidelines for more information.

In this context, Facebook is located in an insecure third country in which the level of data protection is lower. Facebook is subject to the EU-U.S. Privacy Shield in order to guarantee an adequate level of protection by European standards.

5. Legal bases
If the processing is necessary for the legitimate interests of our company or of a third party and unless these are overridden by the interests, basic rights and freedoms of the data subjects, point (f) of Article 6(1) GDPR shall be the legal basis for processing. Our legitimate interest in the data processing lies in the presentation of our company and our products and services for your information and in particular in the provision of contemporary communication options for and with you.

Where we process your personal data for direct marketing purposes, you shall have the right to object at any time to processing of personal data concerning you for such marketing, includes profiling to the extent that it is related to such direct marketing.
