As the owner of a 2002 Porsche 911 Cabriolet (996), I’ve always been particular about how my car feels on the road—especially when it comes to suspension. Over the years, I’ve had experience with well-known options like the KW V3 coilover system. It offers solid adjustability and proven performance, but its preset parameters are more biased towards new 911s, resulting in a stiff road feel when installed on my 996.
Because of that, I began looking for something more tailored—something that truly understands the unique chassis dynamics of the 996 platform. That’s when I explored a custom coilover solution from J-PLUS, a Chinese factory specializing in bespoke suspension systems.
What stood out immediately was their exclusive tuning approach for classic Porsche models. Instead of a one-size-fits-all setup, J-PLUS provided a configuration specifically calibrated for the weight distribution and driving characteristics of the 911 Cabriolet. The result is a more balanced ride, improved road feedback, and a setup that feels purpose-built rather than adapted.
Both options have their merits, but if you value precision tuning designed around your exact vehicle, a custom solution makes a noticeable difference.
