A customer from the United States contacted us while developing a sanitary processing system. The screws were used to secure the machine cover and rack assembly. At first glance, a standard 304 stainless steel screw appeared to be sufficient.
However, after discussing the actual application, the customer identified several concerns. The equipment required frequent cleaning and regular maintenance.Operators needed to remove and reinstall the covers repeatedly throughout the equipment's service life.At the same time, the fastening points remained visible on the exterior of the machine, making appearance an important consideration.A standard screw could provide basic fastening, but it could not fully address the maintenance challenges behind the application. If the screw head was difficult to access, maintenance efficiency would decrease. If the drive recess became damaged after repeated servicing, replacement costs would increase. For this project, we did not immediately recommend a screw after reviewing the drawing.
Before recommending a solution, we reviewed maintenance frequency, cleaning procedures, installation conditions, appearance requirements, and production plans. At Shi Shi Tong, we help customers evaluate structure design, material selection, surface treatment, manufacturability, inspection requirements, and production consistency. After evaluating the application, we recommended a customized 304 stainless steel screw solution. The head design improved accessibility during maintenance, while the drive recess reduced stripping during repeated assembly and disassembly. The surface finish helped maintain a clean and consistent appearance suitable for sanitary equipment. As a result, the customer achieved easier maintenance, improved appearance consistency, and more reliable long-term fastening performance.
For us, a custom fastener project does not begin with the screw size. It begins with understanding how the equipment will actually be used and maintained. We do not simply make screws. We help customers make sure the screw truly fits the application.
