A significant milestone for SonoScape's AI-powered musculoskeletal ultrasound!
A multicenter study on SonoScape's AI-assisted scanning system (S-MSK), conducted in collaboration with the team led by Prof. Li Qiu at West China Hospital, Sichuan University, has been published in , one of the world's leading journals in medical imaging.
Designed to address one of the greatest challenges in musculoskeletal - its strong dependence on operator experience- this technology combines dual deep-learning models to provide real-time guidance during scanning. By automatically recognizing standard scanning planes and anatomical structures, it helps clinicians acquire standardized, high-quality images with greater consistency and efficiency.
The multicenter study demonstrated strong performance across 20 leading hospitals in China, achieving high accuracy in standard plane recognition while significantly improving scanning efficiency and image quality for less experienced operators.
In an accompanying editorial, Prof. Levon N. Nazarian, Professor at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania and Fellow of the American College of Radiology ( ), the Society of Radiologists in Ultrasound ( ), and the American Institute of Ultrasound in Medicine ( ), described this advancement as helping to "demystify this important imaging tool," highlighting its potential to make musculoskeletal ultrasound more accessible beyond expert users.
At , we remain committed to transforming clinical needs into intelligent solutions. Building on this achievement, we will continue expanding AI-assisted musculoskeletal ultrasound across more anatomical regions, empowering clinicians with greater confidence, efficiency, and diagnostic consistency.
