The Middle-Autumn Festival, also known as the Moon Festival, is a traditional Chinese holiday celebrated on the 15th day of 8th lunar month. It usually falls in September or October on the Gregorian calendar, marking the arrival of the autumn season in China.
One of the most iconic traditions of the Mid-Autumn Festival is the consumption of mooncakes. These are round, dense pastries often filled with sweet or savory fillings such as lotus seed paste,red bea paste, or egg yolks. Mooncakes are beautifully decorated and exchanged as gifts amony family members and friends.
These festival has deep cultural significance for the Chinese people. It symbolizes, family love, and the importance of harmony with nature. It is a time when people express their wishes for a better future and pray for good health and fortune.
