✅🧑🔬Quality doesn't stop at the module level. Here's how we inspect, age, and measure our SMD lighting fixtures from semi-finished assembly to final optical testing.
After passing through LED board inspection, AOI, module testing, and module aging (Steps 1–4), as introduced in our last post (https://lnkd.in/gxXvKZMi), the following are Steps 5-9 of our complete SMD lighting quality assurance process.
Step 5️⃣: Semi-Finished Light Fixture Inspection (Visual & Performance)
After module assembly, each semi-finished fixture undergoes:
🔹 Visual check: All screws are verified for correct installation. We also inspect for scratches, dents, material abnormalities, or other cosmetic defects.
🔹 Every SMD style LED Bead is checked for non-lighting or flickering.
Step 6️⃣: Light Fixture Aging Test (Performance)
The semi-finished fixtures are then powered on continuously for a set aging period.
🔹 Technicians closely monitor for any non-lighting LED beads or flickering/unstable output. This step simulates early-life failures and ensures only stable fixtures reach final assembly.
Step 7️⃣: Finished Product Inspection (Visual & Performance)
Once fully assembled, each light fixture undergoes a final complete inspection:
🔹 Visual check (repeated): Screws are rechecked, and we inspect for any new cosmetic damage (scratches, dents, material flaws) that may have occurred during final assembly.
🔹 Performance test: Power consumption is measured again, and every LED bead is verified for no dead lamps or flickering.
Only fixtures passing this 100% inspection proceed to optical characterization.
Step 8️⃣: Dark Room Distribution Photometry Test
Passed samples are tested in a dark room using a goniophotometer. This test measures key optical parameters, including:
🔹 Luminous efficacy (lm/W)
🔹 Total luminous flux (lumens)
🔹 Light distribution curve (beam angle and pattern)
The results confirm that our fixtures meet the designed optical specifications and application requirements.
Step 9️⃣: Integrating Sphere Test (Color Performance)
Finally, each batch undergoes integrating sphere testing to verify color quality. This test measures:
🔹 Correlated color temperature (CCT, in Kelvin)
🔹 Color rendering index (CRI, Ra and/or R9)
These parameters ensure that the light appearance and color accuracy match product specifications before packaging and shipment.
From the first LED bead lighting to the final integrating sphere reading, every step of our process is designed to catch defects early, eliminate field failures, and deliver lighting products you can trust.
