γProduction Efficiency Series #02γ
π Your OEE looks decent β but is your facility truly running at full potential?
OEE only measures efficiency during scheduled production time.
What about the hours your machines sit idle?
That's where TEEP comes in.
TEEP β Total Effective Equipment Performance β measures how efficiently your equipment runs across all calendar time. Including the hours you're not even scheduled to produce.
It's calculated from 2 factors:
π£ Utilization = Planned Production Time Γ· All Calendar Time
Measures how much of your total available time is actually scheduled for production.
π΅ OEE = Availability Γ Performance Γ Quality
Measures how efficiently you run during that scheduled time.
π‘ Want to know how OEE is calculated? Check post #01 on our page.
Then multiply both together β and you get your true capacity utilization.
Example:
Utilization: 66.7% Γ OEE: 84.6% = TEEP: 56.4%
π‘ World-class benchmark: 65% or above.
Below that number? You're leaving more capacity on the table than you think.
