Why Does One Side Have Dross While the Other Side Looks Clean?
If one side of your cut has heavy dross while the other side looks clean, don't change your parameters blindly.
First, check the nozzle condition.
Spatter build-up or a deformed nozzle tip can affect cutting stability and gas flow.
Clean or replace the nozzle if the tip is contaminated or damaged.
Next, check nozzle alignment.
A misaligned nozzle can affect the gas flow around the cutting point and lead to inconsistent cutting results.
Then inspect the protective lens.
Contamination or burn marks can affect beam transmission and cutting stability.
Finally, check the cutting speed.
If the speed is too high for the material and thickness, reduce it and fine-tune the setting.
Check the actual cause first, then adjust one factor at a time.
