Application Sharing | IA3104 for Ball Valve Internal Leakage Detection

This is a field case of ball valve internal leakage detection using the IA3104 Contact Ultrasound Sensor.

By collecting ultrasonic signals through contact measurement on the valve surface, IA3104 helps identify internal leakage conditions without disassembly. In this case, the system detected internal leakage in a ball valve, with an estimated leakage rate of 3.50 L/min.

This solution has already been verified in multiple customer applications, showing solid performance in real-world inspection work.

Combined with the CRY8124 acoustic imaging camera, which is commonly used for external leak detection, IA3104 helps build a more complete solution for both internal and external leakage inspection.

When production testing evolves, the bottleneck often isn’t a missing feature—it’s the patchwork architecture: one more box for one more requirement, until the system becomes hard to scale, hard to maintain, and slow to debug.

With SonoDAQ + OpenTest, the idea shifts from “adding devices” to building a unified platform: scalable multi-modal acquisition on the front end, and one environment for measurement, analysis, sequencing, and reporting on the back end. SonoDAQ Pro scales from 4–24 channels per unit up to 1000+ channels, and supports acoustics + vibration + other physical domains in one chain.

It also supports gradual migration—OpenTest can integrate with common interfaces (openDAQ / ASIO / WASAPI / Core Audio / NI-DAQmx) and extend via plugins (Python / MATLAB / LabVIEW / C++).

Sound pressure level can change with distance, room acoustics, and mic placement—so it’s not ideal when you need results that stay comparable across labs, sites, or production batches.

Sound power testing (Lw) solves this by quantifying the total acoustic energy radiated by a source—making it a benchmarkable, reportable metric for compliance and product noise declarations.

At CRYSOUND, we run sound power workflows in OpenTest (ISO 3744 / 3745 / 3746): automatic K1/K2 corrections, traceable records (points, calibration, environment), and one-click ISO-style reports. For fast setup, we also provide standard hemispherical frames (1 m / 1.5 m) and pair them with SonoDAQ Pro for multi-channel synchronous acquisition (up to 24 points per chassis, with TEDS-based sensitivity setup).

QuickRadio: RF Calibration + Bluetooth RF Performance Test Workflow

If a Bluetooth device “can connect” but isn’t stable in the real world, frequency offset is often the hidden culprit. This workflow starts with frequency calibration (trim written so it still works after reboot), then verifies the three production-critical RF basics: output power, initial carrier frequency tolerance, and single-slot sensitivity.

QuickRadio orchestrates the full sequence with Anritsu MT8852B + CRY578—pass/fail limits, automated reporting, and traceability-friendly data exports (plus UPH & yield stats for line monitoring).

When measuring sound pressure levels above 160 dB, microphone distortion can directly affect the reliability of your test results.

That is why choosing the right working standard microphone is critical for high SPL applications such as jet noise research, aircraft engine noise testing, industrial high-power jet devices, and shockwave acoustic measurement.

In our latest article, we explain:
• Why THD matters in high SPL testing
• How to build a reliable high SPL test environment
• How to select the right microphone for 160–170 dB measurements
• CRYSOUND high SPL microphone options, including models up to 180 dB SPL

Manual Bluetooth audio testing is often slow and inconsistent—especially when you need repeatable codec/connection state transitions.

With CRY578 secondary development, you can control the entire workflow via simple serial commands: connect → play → capture → analyze. It works like a “universal Bluetooth audio source” to emulate smartphones, inject test signals, and automate scenarios like rapid codec switching, call/music switching, and stress testing.
