Large Custom Gear on the Bench – This Is a Customer Sample, and the Kind of Gear We Can Build

This is a customer sample that came through our workshop — a large, non-standard custom gear, sent to us as the reference for what the customer needs. It is not our finished product; it is the thing we would build to.

The sample is a sizeable ring gear — a heavy-section fl**ge with a large center bore, a keyway, multiple bolt holes, and a precision-cut external tooth profile. The diameter, the number of teeth, the module, the bore tolerance, and the bolt-circle pattern are all defined by the customer. When we take on this kind of job, our work is: take the sample and the drawing, source the right blank, machine the gear on our CNC equipment, verify the critical dimensions, and ship it out ready to drop into the customer's assembly.

Gears like this are part of the rotating equipment stack — and as a manufacturer of mechanical seals for rotating equipment, we know that the gear above and the seal below have to line up to make the whole machine run. When we build custom gears in our shop, they go through the same documentation and inspection discipline as our mechanical seal line.

If you have a large custom gear you need machined — a fl**ge gear, a ring gear, or a similar heavy-section drive component — send us your drawing. We'll come back with a manufacturing plan, a quote, and a lead time. And if the gear is part of a rotating equipment build that also needs mechanical pump shaft seals or OEM replacement mechanical seals, we can supply the whole stack from one supplier.

The gear shown here is a customer-provided sample used as a reference for the type of gear we manufacture. Lepu Machinery is not affiliated with, sponsored by, or authorized by any brand named in this context.

Can We Build a Viking® GG4195-Style Internal Gear Pump? Yes – This Is the Kind of Pump We Make

This is the kind of pump we build — a Viking® GG4195 internal gear pump, complete with casing, internal gear set, shaft and bearings. When a customer brings us a reference pump like this, we can manufacture the same type of unit in our workshop.

The GG series is Viking®'s heavy-service internal gear pump line: asphalt, l**e oil, hot oil, bitumen and chemical media — frequently viscous, frequently at elevated temperature. The internal gear design handles high-viscosity flow smoothly with low pulsation, and the cast construction is built for long service life in continuous duty.

Send us your sample — a pump, a drawing, or a worn-out unit — with your process conditions, and we'll come back with a proposal: the specifications we would build to, the seal options, and the lead time.

The pump shown here is a Viking Pump, a unit of IDEX Corp, used here as a reference for the type of pump we manufacture. Bornemann®-Compatible Screw Pump Rotors, 9.5″ – Now in Production

A new line just came off the floor this week: precision-machined screw pump rotors built as a direct aftermarket replacement for Bornemann® 9.5″ progressive cavity pump rotors. Same geometry, same mounting interface, same duty envelope — manufactured in our workshop, not on a Bornemann® assembly line. As a manufacturer known for mechanical seals for rotating equipment and OEM replacement mechanical seals, extending our workshop into OEM replacement pump parts like these rotors was a natural step — and our mechanical seal replacement parts line continues alongside it.

Screw pump rotors live in a tough service environment. Most of the time they run in thick, abrasive, or high-solids media — sludge transfer, oil sands, chemical dosing, dewatering, mud pumping — where the rotor face is taking a continuous beating from the stator lining and the process media at the same time. To hold up under that, the rotor needs three things working in parallel: a high-grade alloy body , tight concentricity on the eccentric profile, and a surface finish that doesn't tear the elastomer stator every revolution.

For users running Bornemann®-series pumps who are looking for a second source on this part, the door is open. Send us your existing rotor's part number and duty conditions, and we'll come back with a quote and a lead time.

The rotors shown here are independently manufactured by Lepu Machinery as aftermarket replacement parts, and are not original Bornemann parts. They are not affiliated with, authorized by, or distributed through Bornemann. Bornemann® is a registered trademark of its respective owner, referenced here only to indicate model compatibility.

When Your John Crane® Metal Bellows Seal Needs Service, We've Got the Repair Kit

A customer in Iraq came back to us this month — the same one who bought a John Crane®-compatible double cartridge metal bellows seal from us years ago. Their unit has been running in oil & gas service ever since, and after all those years on duty, it's now time for a planned overhaul. They didn't want to wait for an original replacement, so they came to us for a full repair kit — and we built it. As specialists in cartridge type mechanical seals and metal bellow mechanical seals, building mechanical seal replacement parts for double cartridge mechanical seals is a natural extension of our line — and for this customer, it meant a repair without the wait.

In this kit, every piece is matched to the original seal geometry: flat gaskets, gland packing rings, sleeve packing rings, metal retainer packing, compression ring, O-rings, and a full set of socket head screws. Each part is individually bagged and labeled with its name, quantity, and intended position in the seal assembly — so the customer's maintenance team can pull the kit off the shelf, walk through the BOM, and rebuild the seal without guesswork.

That's the part we really like: a seal isn't a one-time sale, it's a long-running relationship. The same way a John Crane® seal is built to be repaired — not just replaced — we build our repair kits to the same standard, so a field overhaul takes hours, not weeks, and no original-spec parts need to be hunted down.

John Crane® is a registered trademark of its respective owner. This repair kit is an independently manufactured aftermarket item from Lepu Seal, not an original John Crane part, with no affiliation or authorization. John Crane® is referenced here only to indicate model compatibility.

We made this one to a customer's drawing, so the geometry, dimensions, and the way the metal core sits inside the graphite body are all built to their spec. Before it ships, every ring goes through the penetrant test on the bench — sprayed, dwelled, wiped, and inspected under light. This batch came back clean: no cracks, no seepage, no hidden paths through the metal-graphite interface.

When a customer's drawing is this specific, the only thing that proves we got it right is the test. This is the test.

Custom 25mm Mechanical Seals – Built to Spec, Shipped to Brazil

A peek inside this week's packaging bench: a custom run of small-bore mechanical seals — 25mm shaft size, built to a non-standard spec — lined up, QA-checked, and heading out to a customer in Brazil.

These aren't catalog items. The customer came to us with a specific housing geometry and a specific duty cycle, and we engineered the seal to fit both. Small-bore seals live or die by dimensional accuracy at this scale, so every unit on this bench went through the same incoming-material check, the same face-flatness inspection, and the same assembly fixture before going into the box.

Custom work is never "good enough." From the moment a drawing arrives, every dimension and every step is documented — incoming material check, face flatness verification, assembly on the same fixture — so the first piece and the last piece are identical, and the same standard holds if the customer reorders next year.

That consistency is why customers who try us once on a non-standard part tend to come back with the next order. Custom doesn't have to mean "small batch and slow." When the brief is clear and the engineering is right, we can turn a non-standard seal into a repeatable production run — and that's exactly what landed in these crates.

10 Cartridge Seals, One Destination: South Sudan

A look at this week's production floor: 10 large-bore cartridge mechanical seals lined up on the bench, all built to the same spec and heading out to a customer in South Sudan.

Cartridge seals of this size are typically used in demanding rotating equipment — chemical transfer, oil & gas processing, power plant water systems — where the customer needs a single, factory-assembled unit that drops in without on-site fitting work. The pre-set faces, integral gland, and integrated sleeve are all torqued and dimensionally checked at our bench before packing, so the customer receives a unit that's ready to install.

For this run, all 10 units went through the same QC gate, the same fixture setup, and the same material specification. That kind of batch discipline is what lets a customer in a remote market plan their maintenance schedule around our delivery — instead of the other way around.

This is the kind of work we like: a real spec, a real deadline, and a real destination. The seals are on their way.

Tingyi (Master Kong) Technical Visit – Food-Grade Sealing Solutions

This week we had the pleasure of welcoming the technical team from Tingyi (Master Kong) Holding to our Guangzhou facility for an in-depth technical sharing session on rubber materials for the food and beverage industry.

Our engineers walked the visitors through a complete five-part program: an overview of our key customers across the F&B sector, a walkthrough of our full production workflow from drawing to delivery, a systematic comparison of seven sealing rubber materials — NBR, HNBR, EPDM, FKM/Viton, PTFE, AFLAS and HPU — with temperature ranges, hardness profiles and application guidance for each, a practical methodology for selecting the right elastomer based on media, temperature, pressure and static/dynamic service, and finally our storage guidelines to protect seal integrity over time.

It was followed by a lively technical discussion between the two engineering teams and a hands-on tour of our production and inspection areas.

At Lepu, we believe the best technical conversations happen face to face. When a global F&B leader like Tingyi sends its engineers to your facility, that is not a sales pitch — it is a real engineering review, and we treat it as such. This kind of direct collaboration with end-user manufacturers is what keeps our seal designs grounded in real-world application needs.

If you are working on food, beverage, dairy, or pharmaceutical process equipment, we would love to talk about how our 27+ years of sealing experience can support your operation.
