That’s common when some key details weren’t fully confirmed before production.

Once sampling starts, questions may come up around:

💡The CNC Machined Housings Passed Inspection. Why Is the Bearing Fit Tight After Anodizing?

This is one detail we pay close attention to on aluminum housings.

Before anodizing, the bore may be within tolerance and the mating part fits well. After finishing, that same close fit can feel noticeably tighter.

For bearing bores, locating holes, or other critical fits, we usually look at what the customer actually needs on the finished part. 🔎

That may mean leaving the right machining allowance, masking a critical area, or checking the fit again after anodizing.

🧩 Your Part Needs Material Certs, Special Finishing and Traceability. Is an Instant Quote Enough?

For a standard part, getting a quick price is useful. But some RFQs include requirements that can’t be covered by material, quantity, and a STEP file alone.

The customer may also need:
🔹 A specific material grade with certification
🔹 A defined plating or finishing specification
🔹 FAI, inspection records, or lot traceability

These requirements can affect material sourcing, processing, inspection, and the final price.

For this type of project, we prefer to review the drawing and specifications before confirming the quote. If something is unclear, we’d rather clarify it before production starts.

📅 Need Precision Parts in Early October? It’s Better to Get the Project Moving Before the Holiday.

September usually gets busier for us as China’s National Day holiday gets closer, especially for projects involving CNC machining, sheet metal fabrication, or mechanical assembly.

Finishing the main production process doesn’t always mean the parts are ready to ship. Depending on the project, there may still be:
🔹 Surface finishing
🔹 Inspection and assembly
🔹 Packing and export pickup

If your parts are needed for an October build, test, or customer delivery, confirming the drawings, quantity, finish, and required date earlier gives us more room to arrange the full schedule.

📦 "Same Sheet Metal Part. 10, 50, 100 and 500 pcs. Why Does the Unit Price Change?"

Customers sometimes ask us to quote several quantities for the same sheet metal part, especially when a project may move from a small batch to higher volume later.

From the quoting side, we can usually see the difference quite clearly.
🔹 At lower quantities, setup and programming carry more weight
🔹 Larger batches can improve material nesting and utilization
🔹 Bending, hardware insertion, welding, or powder coating may also run more efficiently in batches

So even with the same drawing, 10 pcs and 500 pcs can end up with quite different unit prices.

When we quote several quantity breaks, the idea isn’t to push a bigger order. It gives the customer a clearer view of how the cost may change if the project grows.

🔩 How Much Assembly Work Could Be Done Before the Parts Reach You?

When custom parts reach the assembly team, the work often starts before anything is fastened together.

They may still need to check the drawing or BOM, confirm revisions, find the right hardware, check orientation, and position the parts correctly.

A few things can help reduce that work:
🔹 Clear part and revision identification
🔹 Pins, inserts, or hardware installed where appropriate
🔹 Related parts supplied as a checked subassembly

The goal is simple: less repeated checking and handling when the parts reach assembly.

📦 “We Need These Precision Parts Urgently.” But Which Ones Do You Need First?

We hear this when a project is already moving and a few missing parts are holding up the next step. Before rushing the whole order, we usually want to know what is actually needed first.

For example, an equipment project might include 10 or 15 different part numbers, but only:
🔧 2 mounting brackets are needed to start assembly
⚙️ 4 machined parts are needed for the first functional test
📦 Covers and non critical parts can arrive a few days later

Once we know that, we can check whether those critical parts can be machined, inspected, and shipped first while the rest of the order keeps moving.

Sometimes getting the right 6 parts earlier is more useful than trying to rush all 50.

🎨 You specified the color, but the CNC parts still came back slightly different?

This matters most when several visible parts sit next to each other after assembly. A small difference in shade, gloss, or texture can become much more noticeable on the final product.

For these projects, one question helps us a lot: What does this part need to match?

A few references can make that much clearer:
🎨 Pantone or RAL number for painted or powder coated parts
📸 A photo or approved sample when appearance is critical
🧩 Information on which parts will sit next to each other

If the parts need to match visually after assembly, tell us early. We can pay attention to that from the first sample.

🔍 First Samples Look Good. Ready to Approve Them?

A new sample can look perfectly fine when you first open the package. The dimensions are within tolerance, the finish looks good, and nothing obvious stands out.

Before approving the next batch, we usually hope the customer can put the part where it really belongs.

📐 Check the critical dimensions, not just every number on the report.
🔩 Try the actual screws, pins, inserts, or mating parts.
🎨 Look at the finish under normal use, especially visible surfaces.
⚙️ Install the part and see how it fits, moves, or functions in the real assembly.

This is also where customer feedback becomes really useful. A comment like “this thread feels tighter than our previous part” or “this edge is visible after assembly” tells us much more than simply “sample approved.”
