How Long to Do the Maintenance for Your Diesel Generator?
As an important power equipment, the maintenance frequency of diesel generators is crucial to ensure their normal operation and extend their service life. However, the maintenance cycle of diesel generators is not fixed, but is affected by many factors.
The frequency of use of a diesel generator has a significant impact on its maintenance cycle. Generally speaking, diesel generators that are used more frequently require more frequent maintenance to ensure that they are always in good working order. If the diesel generator is used less for a period of time, its maintenance cycle can be appropriately extended.
Regular maintenance:
Every 250-300 hours: Change engine oil and oil filter.
Every 500 hours: In addition to changing the oil and oil filter, replace the fuel filter and air filter.
Every 1000 hours: Check valve clearance, fuel injectors, clean water tank radiator.
Every 2000 hours: Check or replace the alternator belt, check the starter motor and charge the alternator.
Maintenance intervals may need to be shortened under the following circumstances:
The operating environment is harsh, such as high temperature, dusty, humid and other environments. For example, if used on a construction site with a lot of sand and dust, the air filter may need to be replaced more frequently.
High load operation, high power output for a long time. For example, in important places with continuous power supply, the wear and tear of equipment will increase, and maintenance must be more frequent. On the contrary, if the operating environment is good, the load is low, and the frequency of use is not high, it is okay to extend the maintenance cycle appropriately, but the operating status of the equipment should be paid close attention to.
