We make mirrored 316L coils — not because it's "trendy," but because 304 simply doesn't hold up in real service.

In 6% ferric chloride:
— 304 — 24 hours
— 2205 — up to 72 hours
— 316L — 120–168 hours

That's a 2.5× difference. Thanks to molybdenum 2.0–2.5% and carbon ≤ 0.03%.

Mirror finish Ra ≤ 0.2 µm isn't about looks. In dairy, a micro-scratch is residue you can't flush out. In vacuum systems, it's a degassing source. So the cycle is strict: electropolishing → leveling → passivation. And eddy-current testing on every batch.

Each coil is calculated per order. If the bend radius is tight, we add wall thickness so it doesn't thin out. One of these has been running at a client's site in Kazan for 7 years at –30 °C.
