How many grinding stations should a workshop actually have?

For a multi-station grinding room, the answer should not start from a fixed booth size. It starts from the workshop layout and the production cycle.

In this Paintcolor design, multiple stations are arranged side by side so different preparation tasks can be handled in parallel, while the overall layout keeps vehicle movement and operator access clear.

The number of stations can be increased or reduced according to actual throughput. Each station can also be assigned a specific job, helping separate different preparation steps instead of concentrating every task in one working area.

From there, the configuration can be developed further according to the project budget and operating requirement, including automatic grinding equipment, dust extraction / vacuum systems, vehicle lifting systems and other supporting modules.

The key design question is not simply “how many bays can fit into the building?”

It is how to arrange the stations so the preparation area matches the real production rhythm, uses the available workshop space efficiently, and leaves enough flexibility for future equipment upgrades.

For bodyshop groups, automotive plants and workshop project partners, Paintcolor can develop the multi-station grinding room around your site layout, vehicle flow and required cycle time.

Case Share | Twin Spray Booth for an Automotive Assembly Plant

This twin spray booth was developed for an automotive assembly plant with clear requirements for reliability, energy efficiency and long-term operation.

The final configuration included a customized twin-booth layout, hot water heating system and Schneider PLC control for airflow and system operation.

Throughout the project, our team worked closely with the customer’s engineers across different time zones, coordinating drawings, technical details and site conditions as the project moved forward.

For Paintcolor, customization is not only about changing dimensions or adding options. The real work is making sure the system fits the customer’s workshop, production requirements and operating conditions when it is installed on site.

For automotive plants, bodyshop groups and project partners working on customized spray booth projects, share your layout and operating requirements with us.

Still running regular batch orders with manual powder spraying?

When the same products are coated day after day, the challenge is keeping the same coating result and production rhythm across more parts and more orders.

Entry-level automatic powder coating line focuses on the functions that matter most for repeat production: automatic powder application, controlled gun movement, continuous workpiece handling and practical powder recovery.

It is a good fit for relatively stable product ranges, repeatable hanging patterns and batch production where manual spraying is becoming difficult to scale efficiently.

The result is a more repeatable coating process and a more predictable production rhythm, without making daily operation and maintenance unnecessarily complicated.

For manufacturers preparing to move beyond manual powder spraying, send us your workpiece, hanging method, batch size and daily output. Paintcolor can configure the automation level around the production you are running today.

On Site | Automatic Powder Spraying with Real Workpieces

Before regular production starts, the automatic spray section needs to be tested with the actual products running through the booth.

In this project, tubular welded parts are moving continuously through the powder spray booth while multiple automatic guns apply powder from both sides.

With real workpieces on the conveyor, the team can check much more than gun movement alone. The actual hanging position, workpiece orientation, spray coverage and overspray handling all become visible under real operating conditions.

For tubular and welded metal parts, this matters because different angles and joints are exposed differently as the workpiece passes through the spray zone.

Paintcolor commissions the automatic spraying section with real products before regular production, helping confirm that the spray booth, conveyor and gun arrangement are working as expected.

For manufacturers and distributors planning an automatic powder coating line, send us your workpiece photos, dimensions, hanging method and required output.

After Commissioning | Industrial Spray Booth & Curing Oven

A spray booth project is not ready for handover simply because installation is complete.

After installation, the complete system needs to be commissioned on site to confirm that the spray booth and curing oven perform properly under actual operating conditions. Airflow, temperature response, control coordination and safety functions all need to work together before the system moves into regular production use.

For distributors and project contractors, this stage helps reduce uncertainty during final delivery and makes the handover process much clearer for the customer.

For the end user, it means the equipment has already gone through real operating checks before daily production begins.

Paintcolor supports industrial spray booth projects from equipment configuration and manufacturing through installation guidance and commissioning support.

Gas, diesel, electric or IR — which heating system actually fits your spray & bake booth?

The answer often changes with the site.

A booth handling 20,000 m³/h of air needs about 100 kW to raise incoming air from 5°C to 20°C. At −10°C, the same airflow needs roughly 201 kW.

That difference can completely change the heating configuration.

For some projects, gas or diesel still makes sense because high thermal output is needed. In other markets, especially where electrical infrastructure is strong, all-electric, IR or hybrid solutions are becoming more relevant.

So before choosing the heater, we normally check the booth airflow, local winter temperature, bake cycle and available site utilities first.

For Paintcolor, heating is not simply a standard option added to the booth specification. It needs to match how the booth will actually run at the customer’s site.

Standard Automotive Spray Booth for South American Bodyshop Projects

South America has a large and active vehicle repair market, and many bodyshops continue to invest in workshop upgrades for refinishing and collision repair.

For distributors, that creates steady demand for spray booth models that are straightforward to quote, install and support across different customer projects.

Paintcolor standard automotive spray booths are designed for this type of regular bodyshop application, with diesel, gas or electric heating options and configurations that can be adjusted for local power supply, exhaust layout and workshop conditions.

For garage equipment distributors, a clear standard model also makes day-to-day sales work easier. It can cover a wide range of bodyshop enquiries without turning every project into a completely new design.

Paintcolor is looking to work with more spray booth distributors and garage equipment partners across South America.

Case Share | How does the conveyor system keep a powder coating line moving continuously?

In this Paintcolor project, the conveyor does much more than transfer workpieces between process sections. It helps determine the production rhythm of the complete line.

For heavier or continuously processed parts, an enclosed-track overhead conveyor with heavy-duty conveyor chain can provide the load capacity and routing flexibility required for industrial coating production.

Key points include hanger load, chain capacity, hanger pitch, line speed, turning radius, trolley and carrier configuration, as well as the drive and tensioning sections.

For heavier workpieces, the suspension system also needs attention. Trolley capacity, hanger structure and dynamic loads during starts, stops and turns all affect long-term operation.

A properly planned conveyor route can reduce repeated handling, keep workpieces moving continuously and make better use of the available factory space.

Paintcolor supplies individual conveyor modules as well as complete automatic powder coating line solutions.

How do you design a spray booth for rolling stock refinishing when the workpiece reaches 30 meters?

Large rail vehicle refinishing projects require a very different approach from regular automotive spray booth applications.

This design concept is a standalone spray and bake booth developed for rolling stock refinishing, with an inner size of 30 x 6.5 x 6.5 meters.

For this kind of project, the key is not only building a larger booth. The design needs to match the real maintenance and repainting requirements of rail vehicles, including:

enough internal space for long vehicle bodies
airflow and exhaust arrangement for large working volumes
stable baking performance after spraying
practical access and operation conditions for maintenance teams

This project was planned as an independent spray and bake booth system rather than a conveyor coating line, making it suitable for rail maintenance facilities, refurbishment workshops and rolling stock repainting projects.

For Paintcolor, large industrial spray booth design always starts from the actual project conditions — workpiece size, workshop layout, operating process and finishing requirements.

If you are planning a rolling stock refinishing booth, a rail vehicle repainting facility or another large industrial spray booth project, feel free to share your project requirements with us.

A reliable spray booth heating system starts with proper design.

This Paintcolor heating unit integrates a diesel burner, galvanized air ducting and control system to provide stable heating performance for spray booth baking operations.

The burner provides heat generation, the duct system supports air distribution, and the control cabinet manages temperature and safety functions.

Different projects may require different heating solutions, including diesel, gas or electric heating, depending on local conditions and customer requirements.

Paintcolor provides customized spray booth solutions for automotive refinishing and industrial coating applications.
