Case Share | New Automatic Powder Booth, Existing Conveyor

This project keeps the customer’s existing conveyor, which has already been in service for around ten years, and adds a new automatic powder booth with cyclone recovery.

Before production, we ran the guns together with the existing conveyor and walked the operators through the booth cleaning process.

The point of this startup was simple: make sure the new spraying section works with the old line before regular production begins.

For retrofit projects, that usually means checking the real operating details on site — conveyor movement, hanging position, gun stroke, booth clearance and recovery operation.

The customer can keep the part of the line that still works and upgrade the section that needs better spraying and recovery performance.

Good Finishes Start with What You Can See

When you compare spray booths, lighting is one of the easiest details to overlook — and one of the easiest places to see whether the booth was designed around real painting work.

A few ceiling lamps may make the chamber look bright in photos, but that is not enough once a vehicle or large workpiece is inside.

What matters is whether the painter can still see the surface clearly along the sides, lower panels, edges and body lines while spraying.

That is why Paintcolor spray booths use ceiling and side lighting layouts together, with the number and position of lamps adjusted to the booth size and working area.

For larger or customized booths, we do not simply enlarge the chamber and keep the same lighting arrangement. The lighting layout changes with the booth dimensions, vehicle size and inspection area.

This is also why many of our finished booths look noticeably bright from inside: the lighting is planned as part of the working environment, not added at the end as an accessory.

Metal Chair Frames on an Automatic Powder Coating Line

For batch production of metal chairs, the coating result has to hold up when the order moves from hundreds of frames to thousands.

In this project, the hanging position, gun arrangement, reciprocator movement and conveyor speed were set around the actual chair frame.

The video shows the coated result directly: clean coverage, even metallic texture and a consistent appearance across the visible parts of the frame.

Once the spraying setup is matched properly, production becomes much easier to control from one batch to the next, while the line can also be adjusted for other tubular furniture parts and frame models.

Customized Spray Booth Solution for Southeast Asia

For Southeast Asian spray booth projects, customization is not only about booth size.

High humidity can affect drying conditions and fresh-air handling. Heavy monsoon rain becomes important when air-handling units or ductwork are installed outdoors. On low-lying sites, the pit and below-floor exhaust arrangement may need additional consideration. For coastal workshops, external fan housings, ducts, support frames and fasteners can require more attention to long-term exposure.

Power conditions also need to be confirmed project by project. Voltage and frequency vary across the region, while the available electrical load can directly affect fan, control and electric-heating configurations.

Paintcolor develops each project around the actual workshop environment, coating process, available utilities and installation conditions, rather than applying one standard “Southeast Asia configuration.”

Case Share | Zirconium-Silane Pretreatment Layout

For this Paintcolor powder coating line project, the pretreatment process was selected around the customer’s actual product and surface-treatment requirements.

For a typical 4-stage zirconium-silane process, the sequence is:

Degreasing → Rinse → Zirconium-Silane Conversion → Final Rinse

The rinse between degreasing and conversion is important because the conversion stage needs a properly cleaned surface without excessive carry-over from the cleaning chemistry.

That process choice directly affects coating adhesion, corrosion resistance and surface consistency before powder application.

Local chemical availability, operating cost and technical support also need to be considered so the pretreatment process remains practical in daily production.

For metal manufacturers, Job Coaters and coating-line project partners, the pretreatment layout should be built around the chemistry and the actual workpiece — not just the number of stages.

Waterborne Paint Booth for Southeast Asia

Switching to waterborne paint does not always require replacing the entire spray booth.

Paintcolor can supply a complete new waterborne paint booth, or upgrade an existing booth with independent air ducts, separate air supply and electrical control. The additional air movement helps accelerate evaporation during flash-off and reduce unnecessary waiting time between coating steps.

Each project is handled with a one-to-one technical proposal. Booth size, airflow layout, air acceleration system, heating, filtration and control configuration can all be adjusted according to the workshop and actual painting process. The proposal can be revised until the final configuration is confirmed.
