“This glass panel, I’m sure it didn’t have these issues when it was first installed. Let’s take a closer look. What exactly caused this? It must be because the PVB film was too thin. At the beginning, there was no problem at all. But over time, the glass started to relase stress, causing this large-scale delamination.You can see it clearly here. So when choosing glass for railings in the future, make sure to use sufficiently thick PVB film. If it’s too thin, this kind of issue will appear over time.”

For those factories who still want to reduce costs by using thinner interlayer film — do you still insist on this approach?

Unless, of course, you do not offer any warranty.

With autoclave-free glass laminating furnace objectively leaves no room for this kind of hidden risk. If the interlayer film is too thin, the problem will be detected immediately during production.

This is different from traditional autoclave lamination, where the glass may look fine at the beginning, but problems can appear only after installation and long-term use.

Choosing the right PVB thickness is not only a cost issue. It is a quality, safety and responsibility issue.
