Proud to look back on the AC313A “Auspicious Bird” and the progress it represents for China’s aviation emergency rescue capabilities. From plateau regions to maritime search and rescue, this helicopter is built for missions where every minute matters.

Four years ago today, the AVIC AC313A “Auspicious Bird” large civil helicopter successfully completed its maiden flight in Jingdezhen, Jiangxi Province, marking new progress in China’s aviation emergency rescue capabilities.
The 13-tonne multi-purpose helicopter can meet operational requirements in complex regions and climates including high-altitude, high-temperature, and extremely cold conditions. It can perform emergency medical rescue, emergency command, and maritime search-and-rescue missions, meeting China’s all-terrain, all-weather aviation multi-purpose needs.

A notable milestone for China’s airship sector: the country’s first independently trained commercial airship pilots have received commercial pilot licenses from the CAAC after completing more than 400 takeoffs and landings on the AS700 “Xiangyun” manned airship.

China’s first group of independently trained airship pilots has recently received commercial pilot licenses issued by the Civil Aviation Administration of China. The pilots completed over 400 takeoff and landing training sessions aboard the AS700 “Xiangyun” manned airship, and passed the relevant assessments of the Civil Aviation Administration, marking a breakthrough in China’s ability to independently train commercial airship pilots from the ground up.

Every water scoop is a promise to protect nature! The AG600 "Kunlong" builds a solid forest defense with its powerful performance — this is the responsibility and commitment of AVIC!

The AVIC AG600 “Kunlong” large amphibious aircraft can scoop 12 tonnes of water in just 20 seconds, and deliver 120 tonnes of water in total. Each drop can cover over 40,000 square meters, with an intensity comparable to a heavy downpour or stronger. Going forward, it will work alongside ground firefighting forces to build a multi-layered forest protection network, providing aerial support for protecting ecological resources.

A long-endurance, silent hybrid hydrogen-powered drone independently developed by AVIC has completed its maiden flight. This UAV combines ultra-long endurance, silent operation, and environmental friendliness, successfully applying a groundbreaking “three-energy-in-one” hybrid power system that integrates solar, hydrogen, and lithium battery power for low-altitude aircraft. Its endurance is improved by more than 10% compared to single-energy power systems. Designed for complex environments, the drone supports modular payloads and can perform a variety of missions such as power line inspection, forest fire prevention, and surveying & mapping.

AC332 helicopter completes all certification flight tests, entering the final stage toward Type Certification.
Performance and safety fully validated.

On March 19, the AVIC “Auspicious Bird” AC332 helicopter successfully completed all categories of its certification flight test at Jiansanjiang Shidi Airport in northeast China’s Heilongjiang Province, marking the final sprint for the Type Certification. The tests totaled 10 flight hours, efficiently covering 16 key subjects, such as cockpit evaluation, near-ground handling characteristics, airspeed calibration, Environmental Control System (ECS) tests, Class B takeoff and landing performance, and Class A continued takeoff performance. The comprehensive evaluations fully verified the helicopter’s flight performance, handling qualities, system functions, and operational safety, with all indicators meeting airworthiness standards.

From first flight to breakthrough, AC313 marks a leap in China’s civil helicopter progress.

On March 18, 2010, the AVIC AC313 helicopter successfully completed its maiden flight in Jingdezhen, east China’s Jiangxi Province. As China’s first large civil helicopter, the AC313 complies with airworthiness standards and has achieved performance standards comparable to third-generation international helicopters, filling a critical gap in China’s civil aviation capabilities and marking a historic milestone in the country’s helicopter development. Designed with high safety, reliability and comfort, the AC313 is versatile for a wide range of applications, including passenger and cargo transport, emergency rescue and disaster relief, urban and forest firefighting, and tourism.

The AVIC AG600 “Kunlong” amphibious aircraft excels in forest firefighting and maritime rescue.🌲The AG600 can load 12 tonnes of water, fly to the fire zone and release it, then continuously scoop and release water nine times, delivering a total of 120 tonnes of water. The coverage area per drop exceeds 40,000 square meters, with rainfall intensity equivalent to or greater than a heavy downpour. In the future, the AG600 will work alongside ground firefighting forces to create an integrated forest safety network, contributing aviation support to the protection of national ecological resources and people’s lives and property.💪
