The first impression counts.

The high front facade of this villa in a suburb of Madrid leaves a long-lasting impression. The entrance facade, characterized by the seven-metre-high glazing with pivot doors extending over two floors, has become a striking visual and functional statement.
To realize such an extraordinary extra height, the architect Carlos Calvo deliberately opted for steel and the VISS profile system. The VISS pivot door is a thermally insulated mullion-transom construction that not only impresses with its aesthetic presence but also fulfils the highest functional requirements.

Sophisticated luxury in a monastic setting
The centuries-old walls of the Convento de San Marcos in León are home to (among other things) the Parador de Turismo. But in contrast to the lavishly decorated sandstone facade, the interior is deliberately simple. The centrepiece of the 5* hotel is now a building-high atrium, which has been restored around the former cloister. At the top, a surrounding band of Jansen VISS facade provides natural lighting; top-hung windows from the fine Janisol Arte 2.0 system were integrated for ventilation.
The management of Paradores de Turismo de España also emphasises the aspect of sustainability: ‘Investing in contemporary architecture helps us to be more sustainable and attract increasingly high-quality tourism, while at the same time contributing to the economic and social development of the areas in which we are present,’ they said on the reopening of the Parador de Léon.
