What Does "Certified" Actually Mean? 🔍
Many organisations describe themselves as "ISO certified." What matters more is who did the certifying, and under what oversight.

An accredited certification body has itself been independently assessed against international standards like ISO/IEC 17021-1 — a layer of scrutiny that isn't always there.

Worth checking before relying on a certificate:
✅ Is the certification body itself accredited? ✅ Does that accreditation cover the specific standard? ✅ Can it be independently verified?

Electrical Safety and Performance, Verified Before a Device Ever Reaches a Patient.

Medical electrical equipment does not get a second chance to fail — IEC 60601 exists precisely because electrical safety, performance, and reliability are not areas where "close enough" is acceptable.

In practice, this means testing how a device behaves under real-world conditions: whether it is safe to touch, whether it performs consistently, and whether it can be trusted in a clinical setting where lives may depend on it.

MTIC InterCert's ISO/IEC 17025-accredited laboratory in Rho, Milan, conducts testing for medical electrical equipment under the IEC 60601 series — accreditation granted by ANAB, including FDA ASCA recognition.

This testing also supports the General Safety and Performance Requirements (GSPR) under EU MDR 2017/745, one of several elements manufacturers need to address for market access.

ISO 14001:2026 — The Clock Is Ticking on Your Transition. ⏳

It has been a few weeks since ISO officially published the 2026 edition of ISO 14001. If your organisation is still certified to the 2015 version, here are the dates that matter:

📅 October 30, 2027 — last date new certificates can be issued under ISO 14001:2015
📅 April 30, 2029 — final deadline: all ISO 14001:2015 certificates expire
