La biométrie veineuse s’invite dans l’hôpital! Projet mis au point avec l’Idiap Research Institute

Dans les hôpitaux, l’identité n’est jamais une donnée secondaire. Elle conditionne l’accès aux soins, la sécurité des patients, la circulation de l’information et, plus largement, la confiance dans l’ensemble du parcours médical. C’est sur ce terrain sensible que Global ID SA et l’Institut de recherche Idiap ont choisi d’avancer avec KIDOLEH, un projet destiné à améliorer l’authentification par veines du doigt grâce à l’apprentissage automatique.

Nous avons eu le plaisir d’accueillir cette semaine un groupe d’étudiants de https://careacademy.org , un institut universitaire américain, dans le cadre d’un voyage d’études consacré à l’entrepreneuriat social.

Les échanges ont porté sur un enjeu clé pour les entreprises technologiques d’aujourd’hui : comment concilier performance économique et engagement concret en faveur des Objectifs de Développement Durable des Nations Unies (ODD).

Nous avons notamment partagé notre retour d’expérience autour de :
🪬 notre technologie d’authentification biométrique par reconnaissance veineuse,
♻️ nos engagements Swiss Triple Impact en matière de durabilité,
🔐 les applications de la biométrie au service d’une gestion des identités plus sûre, éthique et responsable.

Un moment riche de questions, de curiosité et de réflexion avec une jeune génération particulièrement sensible à l’impact sociétal des innovations technologiques.

We had the pleasure of welcoming this week a group of students from Care Academy, an American academic institute, as part of an educational trip focused on social entrepreneurship.

Our discussions centered on a key challenge for today’s technology-driven companies: how to balance business performance with meaningful commitments to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

We shared insights on:
👆 our finger vein biometric authentication technology,
🌍 our Swiss Triple Impact sustainability commitments,
🛂 and the use of biometrics to support secure, ethical, and responsible identity management.

It was a rich and inspiring exchange, marked by thoughtful questions and a strong awareness from a new generation deeply engaged with the societal impact of innovation.

Global ID develops cutting-edge biometric identification technology at the crossroads of hardware, AI, and computer vision. To support the next phase of our product roadmap, we are looking for an Embedded Systems Engineer with strong expertise in electronics and embedded software.

🔧 Main Responsibilities
• Lead HW/SW design for next-generation infrared imaging devices
• Define product architecture and develop drivers for internal interfaces (cameras, electronics, crypto/FIDO features)
• Develop and maintain production-grade embedded software in Rust (Raspberry Pi targets)
• Support debugging, troubleshooting, and system upgrades (C for STM32, Python for Raspberry Pi)
• Guide external partners on design, manufacturing, and production
• Contribute to industrialization: CI (GitLab CI), build optimization, automation
• Collaborate closely with software, hardware, and QA teams for robust system integration

🛠 Required Industrial Experience
• Strong background in electronics engineering
• Proven experience with embedded development (STM32, Raspberry Pi)
• Strong Rust programming skills for embedded systems
• Experience working with QA processes and supply-chain-driven environments
