🚁 What does air rescue in Switzerland really look like? In his latest video, paramedic and YouTuber Marcel Wilhelm goes behind the scenes at Rega to explore how missions are coordinated and how patients are cared for in rescue helicopters and ambulance jets. We were proud to spot the ventilator on board the Rega jet, ready to support critically ill patients throughout air transport.❤️

Thank you to Marcel and the Rega team for this fascinating insight into the expertise, teamwork, and technology behind every mission.

🚁 Behind the scenes at Rega 💙 Following the successful delivery and installation of the first ventilators at , colleagues from across Hamilton Medical who contributed to the development of the HAMILTON-EM7 had the opportunity to visit Rega’s headquarters at Zürich Airport in Kl**en.

Through a presentation and a tour of the facilities, the team gained valuable insights into Rega’s daily operations and the environments in which the HAMILTON-EM7 will support emergency and transport care.

A big thank you to the Rega team for the warm welcome and for taking the time to share their work and expertise with us. It was a great opportunity for our colleagues to see the HAMILTON-EM7 journey come full circle. 🚁🤝
We look forward to continuing our collaboration!

🫁 Is bag-valve-mask ventilation really a "basic" skill? In this clip of the "The World’s Okayest Medic Podcast" with Mike Carunchio, Dr. Mario Rugna and Kirk Smith discuss why effective ventilation is more difficult than many clinicians realize. Even experienced providers can struggle to deliver consistent ventilation, especially in high-stress prehospital environments.

Their conversation highlights the importance of proper training, recognizing the limitations of manual ventilation, and understanding when mechanical ventilation can provide more consistent respiratory support.

Watch this clip to hear why mastering the fundamentals and knowing when to leverage technology can make a difference in patient care.

💡 What should guide your next steps after initiating ? In this clip of "The World’s Okayest Medic Podcast" with Mike Carunchio, Dr. Mario Rugna and Kirk Smith discuss a practical approach to starting bi-level ventilation in patients with inadequate spontaneous breathing.

Rather than concentrating only on ventilator settings, they emphasize evaluating the patient's response. Assess chest rise, oxygenation, end-tidal CO₂, exhaled tidal volume, and overall work of breathing to determine whether ventilation is effective.

As Dr. Rugna notes, "On the way in is the machine. On the way out is the patient." Understanding how the patient responds is what guides effective ventilation.

A milestone in emergency care partnerships 🚁 The first installation worldwide has been successfully completed with our long-standing partner REGA.

A total of 21 HAMILTON-EM7 ventilators were delivered and installed, supported on site by a dedicated team of five Hamilton Medical service technicians and project leaders to ensure a smooth rollout.

Thank you to the Rega team for your trust, collaboration, and excellent partnership throughout this project. We look forward to supporting your mission for years to come.

🚑 Why wait until the patient reaches the ambulance to begin advanced respiratory support? In this clip from the "The World’s Okayest Medic Podcast" with Carunchio, Dr. Mario Rugna and Smith RRT discuss how portable ventilators are changing by allowing clinicians to rethink traditional workflows.

They also explore the benefits of using noninvasive ventilation (NIV) early in patient care. Not only to support oxygenation and ventilation, but also to create a hands-free workflow that helps EMS teams manage limited personnel and prepare airway interventions more efficiently.

🏁 Ready when every second counts. 🚑 At speeds of over 300 km/h, safety goes far beyond the racetrack. Behind every race is a highly trained medical team, prepared to respond at a moment's notice with the right skills, planning, and equipment.

We are proud to see our partner InterMed Medical ANZ supporting Arc Safety + Medical at the V8 Supercars event in Christchurch with the transport ventilator, helping ensure advanced respiratory support was available trackside throughout the event.

Thankfully, it was not needed. But when critical moments arise, having trusted technology ready can make all the difference. A big thank you to the teams at InterMed Medical ANZ and Arc Safety + Medical for their commitment to keeping drivers, teams, and spectators safe. 🤝💙

From recognizing the limitations of manual ventilation to challenging the mindset that "keeping it simple" means doing less, Dr. Rugna explains why advanced ventilation belongs in EMS, and how education and training can make it a reality.
