Not every refrigeration system needs to be packaged in one place.

At Gore Bay Curling Club, the new system uses a split configuration — with the compressor station indoors and the condenser outside.

Available space, existing infrastructure and building layout can all influence system design. A split configuration allows the equipment to be arranged around the needs of the facility.

Our team spent last week in Gore Bay, Ontario, bringing a new curling refrigeration system together on site.

Unlike a complete outdoor packaged system, this installation uses a split configuration — with the compressor station located indoors and a remote condenser outside.

The new system was designed to work with the club's existing infrastructure, including retaining the existing pump while converting the secondary loop from brine to glycol.

From the compressor station and controls to the outdoor condenser, it's a good example of how the refrigeration system can be configured around the needs and layout of the facility — rather than taking a one-size-fits-all approach.

For Ingersoll District Curling Club, the refrigeration system was designed and built as a complete outdoor packaged unit — bringing the major refrigeration components together in one purpose-built system.

It's one example of how refrigeration equipment can be configured around the facility, rather than expecting every facility to accommodate the same equipment layout.

A glimpse of what we’ve been up to this week at Starsky Fine Foods!

Our latest refrigeration unit made the trip to Mississauga and was craned into place as part of Phase 2 of the store’s expansion and renovation.

Phase 1 supported the newly acquired expansion area. This next unit will serve the renovated original store as the project continues to move forward.

Always exciting to see a system leave our shop and make it into position on site.
