September 30th marks both the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, a federal statutory holiday, and the Orange Shirt Day, an indigenous-led grassroots commemorative day.

On this day, we acknowledge the lasting and inter-generational impacts of residential schools. We honour the children who never returned home, the survivors, their families, and their communities.

We invite you to take a moment to reflect on the ongoing journey toward truth, reconciliation and healing by participating in one of the events below. Throughout the year, you can continue your learning journey by engaging with the rich and diverse cultures, voices, experiences and histories of First Nations, Inuit and Métis peoples.

On this International Women in Engineering Day , we celebrate the outstanding achievements of women engineers in the Yukon and across Canada, as well as their invaluable contributions to the community.

We recognize the importance of diversity and express our gratitude to those who foster a safe and equitable workplace environment, provide opportunities for women's advancement within the profession, and support their empowerment at every stage of their career.

Through the 30 by 30 initiative, Engineers Yukon, in collaboration with Engineers Canada and other provincial and territorial engineering regulators, is committed to increasing the representation of women in the engineering field.
