Two prefabricated modules form a single compact volume clad in Luna Arctic.

Výminek is an 80-square-metre demonstration house in Tvrdonice, Czech Republic, designed by David Bureš of with CL3. The simple form minimizes circulation, and large sliding glazing extends the interior onto the terrace.

Two deep grooves in the Luna Arctic Triple cladding set the rhythm of the facade. The brushed silver-grey surface looks even from installation and does not require regular surface treatment. Over the years, the Arctic coating gradually wears and the naturally greyed Lunawood emerges underneath.

Lunawood ThermoWood® is also used for the decking.

From façades to the sauna, Lunawood ThermoWood® created a cohesive material identity throughout the Habitare Naapurit exhibition. 🌿

Designed by , the human-scale courtyard brought architecture, natural materials and lighting together to support both a sense of community and moments of calm.

Featured across the façades, courtyard, interiors and sauna, Lunawood ThermoWood® created visual continuity between the buildings while bringing warmth and atmosphere to the entire setting.

A beautiful example of how wood can become more than a surface material—uniting an entire architectural composition.

Designing hospitality spaces with a connection to nature 🌿

In hospitality architecture, material choices influence how a space looks, feels and relates to its surroundings. Wood introduces natural texture and warmth, while creating continuity between architecture, interiors and landscape.

Four hospitality projects show different approaches to using Lunawood ThermoWood® — from façades and interiors to sauna and wellness spaces.

📷Glacier Lagoon Hotel | Iceland

Set between glaciers and volcanic landscapes, Hotel Jökulsárlón uses Lunawood on the façade to establish a natural relationship between the building and its surroundings, while responding to Iceland’s demanding climate.

Brushed Lunawood ThermoWood® spruce continues from the exterior façade into guest rooms, the spa and restaurant, creating a consistent material language throughout the hotel.

📷 Umani Hotel | Bulgaria

Located next to Golden Sands Nature Park near Varna, Umani Hotel was designed to sit discreetly among the existing trees and rock formations. Vertical Lunawood ThermoWood® battens wrap the façade, helping integrate the building with its natural setting.

Lunawood ThermoWood® is used both on the exterior façade and in the hotel’s sauna and wellness areas, creating a consistent material connection between the building’s exterior and interior. In the wellness spaces, the dimensional stability and resin-free properties of Lunawood make it particularly suited to demanding conditions and high temperatures.

Biophilic design brings people closer to nature through materials, light, texture, views, and the relationship between indoors and outdoors. 🌿

Wood plays a particularly meaningful role in this. Its grain, warmth and texture bring the character of nature into architecture, helping spaces feel more connected to the world outside.

Bueno Brandão 257 in São Paulo, designed by Königsberger Vannucchi Arquitetos Associados, shows this well. Located near Ibirapuera Park, the residential tower combines planted balconies, floor-to-ceiling windows, natural cross-ventilation and a layered façade of vegetation and natural materials.

Lunawood ThermoWood® is used in the soffits and façade elements, bringing that same warmth and texture into the building.

Lunawood is a member of The International Biophilic Products Association, a nonprofit working to bring biophilic design principles into the building industry through materials that support human well-being.
