When the factory mounting hardware just won't hold up, it’s time to upgrade! 🛠️🚛

One of our neighbors brought in their truck after their DEF tank mounting bracket started to fail. Since we had previously built the aluminum step assembly for this rig (and it’s still going strong years later!), they knew where to come for a permanent fix.

We fabricated a heavy-duty mounting bracket using 1/4" plate steel to ensure this tank stays secure for the long haul. No more worrying about components hitting the ground—just solid, reliable fabrication built to last.

Huge shoutout to our summer student! 🎓🔨

It’s always bittersweet to see the season wrap up. A massive thanks to the newest member of the North Side Fabrication crew for holding it down with us these past few months.

From learning the ropes on our plasma table to jumping in on heavy-duty fabrication projects and keeping the shop floor running efficiently every single day, you’ve been a huge asset. We really enjoyed teaching you the welding processes, metallurgy basics, and how to read prints—it’s always rewarding to see the next generation of tradespeople getting their hands dirty, mastering the skills, and really owning the craft, and you certainly did that this summer.

Good luck with the upcoming school year—we know you’re going to crush it. Tell that manufacturing teacher to sit down and listen while you teach the class!. Thanks for all the hard work and for being such a solid part of the crew. Stay in touch!

Shop life hack: when the standard forks don't reach, you build your own reach. 🚜📏

We built these heavy-duty fork extensions in-house to make moving equipment and materials around the shop floor a hell of a lot easier. Sometimes you just have to fab up the right tool for the job.

Dock impact? No problem. 🛥️🌊

This boat came into the shop with a smashed-in keel right at the waterline, but it’s leaving ready for the next season. Our team performed a full repair: meticulous disassembly, cold working, and planishing to get the hull skin back to its original shape. We even custom-formed a new keel strip right here in the shop to replace the damaged section, finishing it off with new solid aluminum rivets and a final leak check to ensure it's watertight.

Whether it’s a hull repair, custom marine fabrication, or just getting your boat back in top shape, we’ve got the shop expertise and specialized tools to handle it.
