Living with an ostomy comes with questions — and you don’t have to figure everything out on your own. 💚

Join us for Macdonald’s Ostomy Education Event on Saturday, September 19 at Creekside Community Centre!

Spend the day learning from healthcare professionals, ostomy experts and people with lived experience, with practical sessions covering everything from skin care, medications and nutrition to exercise, travel and kidney health.

You’ll also have the chance to meet ostomy vendors, ask questions, connect with others in the community and discover resources that can help make everyday life with an ostomy a little easier.

This is a look inside one of Macdonald's earliest Vancouver pharmacies, at 925 West Georgia Street, where we moved in 1929 after establishing Macdonald's Prescriptions in Vancouver in 1926.

For generations, our pharmacists have been committed to serving patients and families with the same dedication, compassion, and personal care that continues to guide us today. As we celebrate our centennial year, we're proud to honour our past while looking forward to the next chapter.

The study protocol for our DINOSAUR study was published earlier this week in Frontiers in Allergy. It's always so exciting to see our hard work come to life! We are now collecting and analyzing the final exit samples. Thank you to our FAIT Program and Allergy Clinic families for participating in this critical study!

Every great story starts somewhere. 💚

Before Macdonald's Prescriptions became Vancouver's longest-running pharmacy, our story began inside this humble general store in Campbellton, New Brunswick, all the way back in 1920. This was where neighbours gathered, friendships were formed, and caring for the community was simply a way of life.

Six years later, that same commitment to care made its way west to Vancouver, where Macdonald's Prescriptions would go on to become the city's longest-running pharmacy.

More than a century after those first beginnings, the buildings may have changed, but the heart of our pharmacy hasn't. The same commitment to personal care, trusted advice, and putting patients first continues to define who we are today.

As we celebrate our centennial year in Vancouver, we're honoured to reflect on where our journey began—and grateful to everyone who has been part of it.
