This pile is dedicated to the beautiful Laura Campos , my mentor. Laura is a biologist who specializes in fungi, insects and biocontrol. Her high level of understanding and thoughtful answers to all of my SFW questions shows she is a brilliant scientist and amazing teacher.

Laura has recently stepped away from her role as Mentor with the Soil Food Web School to pursue a PhD looking at disease-suppressive qualities of fungi and their potential role in agriculture.

Laura, it was a pleasure meeting you in Costa Rica, and working with you virtually for the past few years! Good luck with your PhD, im sure you'll do amazing things!

To wrap things up, here's a fun little reel of what I found in our young Juicy pile! Remember she was made in the snow in November and frozen for 4 months. She may be a little too juicy right now, but shes super interesting under the scope.

Compost log with the

Here's a Katrina pile update showing how I track my compost recipe and temperature/moisture/turning requirements to make the best compost for safety and beneficial microbiology.

The 4 key principles are
- moisture
- oxygen
- temperature
And
- Biodiversity

The more we use these sheets, the better we get at understanding the responses of our feedstock versus environmental conditions the better we get at this. I started off with 5 "failed" piles in a row, but now I consistently make
