Dom's Auto Parts

We had Durham Regional Police Service out for more training in our yard this week. We're always happy to help the community (and even happier that they came bearing donuts and coffee for our staff). Thanks, guys! ☕🍩

This has been yet another year to be thankful for here at Dom's. Please note we will be closed on Thanksgiving Monday for some much-needed feasting. Enjoy your long weekend, everybody! 🍂🦃

Despite popular belief, we're not a "junk yard"... 🤣 Dom's maintains a team of highly skilled professionals who are here to help you get your car fixed for a great price!

Auto recycling is a really unique industry, and we highly recommend checking out organizations like Ontario Automotive Recyclers Association - OARA and Automotive Recyclers of Canada Association to learn more about what we do and why we do it.

Behind every quality recycled part are people who know its value. 🔧♻️

Across Ontario, OARA members bring skill, experience and care to every step — identifying, testing, carefully removing and inventorying original manufacturer parts so they can get back on the road.

These are skilled technicians, parts specialists, equipment operators and local business owners. People who take pride in their work, stand behind what they sell and help drivers and repair shops find the right part at a lower cost.

Many are family businesses with generations of experience and deep roots in their communities. They’re your neighbours — creating local jobs, sponsoring local teams, supporting charities and giving back to the communities that support them.

That’s the value of choosing an OARA member: professional service, environmental responsibility and real savings, backed by people who care about their customers and their community.

Quality parts. Money saved. Local people you can count on.

...And help keep our planet healthy! (2/2)

A vehicle may reach the end of its time on the road—but its value does not end there.

OARA members are leaders in professional automotive recycling. As established local businesses, they provide exceptional service to consumers and repair facilities while creating jobs, supporting their communities and setting a high standard for environmental stewardship.

When an end-of-life or total-loss vehicle arrives, it is carefully processed. Fluids and potentially hazardous materials are safely removed, quality original equipment parts are recovered and inspected, and metals, tires, batteries and other materials are directed into appropriate recycling streams.

Approximately **85% of a vehicle’s weight can be reused or recycled.** That means less waste, fewer new resources consumed and more quality recycled parts available to help reduce the rising cost of vehicle repairs.

This is the leadership OARA members provide every day: serving their communities, protecting the environment and helping keep safe, affordable vehicles on Ontario’s roads.

Save yourself some cash... (1/2)

There is a part of automotive recycling that many people never see.

Professional automotive recyclers process late-model vehicles that have been declared total losses—often because repairing the entire vehicle is no longer economical, not because every part has reached the end of its useful life.

These vehicles can contain high-quality, low-mileage original equipment parts that are carefully recovered, inspected and made available to consumers and repair facilities across Ontario.

By the last calculation, Ontario’s recycled-parts industry was helping consumers and repair facilities save an estimated **$537 million to $806 million** compared with purchasing equivalent new parts. As the cost of living and vehicle repairs continues to rise, those savings are becoming even more important.

Quality recycled parts help make repairs more affordable, extend the life of vehicles and reduce the need to manufacture new products.

**Good for your budget. Good for the environment.**

There are real people behind every quality recycled auto part.

People who know vehicles. People who understand parts. And people who help repair shops and vehicle owners find the right part for the right repair.

Professional auto recyclers carefully identify, inspect and inventory the parts they sell. And when you purchase from an OARA member, quality recycled parts are backed by warranty — giving repairers and vehicle owners confidence in the parts they choose.

These are original equipment parts that have already proven themselves on the road — professionally recovered and ready for their next life.

Quality. Value. Warranty.
